When I had that problem(PB handshake error), I just connected to another server for a few minutes, then re joined TG server. That worked, and problem has gone away.

Punk Busters is extremely sensitive to any changes. Even down to packet flow. Any lag on your net connection can cause PB to burp and fail. Best advice is to stay updated, even if you have to do it manual each time. Get your memory optimized and cleared of any background programs running. Make sure your firewall accepts BF2 and PB thru its ports. It takes alot of tweaking, but it will ease your problems. The majority of problems seems to be that ppls PB does not for some reason auto update at times. This error will allow you in game and then suddenly fail on you during play. Usually with a hand shake error. Thats from what I have read on other forums.

Good Luck, Update, Update and run it Manual if you have to.

I'll second this. If you haven't done a manual update then do it. Make sure to put BF2 in the list of games.

I was playing some FH2 and kept getting booted by PB. I don't remember anymore what stupid error it was giving me. A manual update cleared the problem and I've been fine since then.

And a third...I just manually updated when I read the OP and my BF2 client updated. I try to do it once a week as habit but forget sometimes. Manual PBSetup has worked best for me over the long run.
