Re: PoE2 problems
Download Windows debugging tools.
Open your BF2 crash dump file usually located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\dmp
Run the command ".ecxr" and then "!analyze -v" in the bottom command line area and if you look at the bottom of the output file you should see a clue to where your system is losing the game. You should be able to tell by the type of file exception it is like a driver error or directx error, etc. That will point you in the right direction of to attempt a fix instead of guessing.
It is also possible that if the server was full (like prime time on a Friday) you may have been kicked to make room for a supporting member. That is an easy fix also.

Did BF2 just crash with no error?
Did you try restarting your computer?

Re: PoE2 problems
Related issue I have been having for a couple weeks now:
Whenever the server is playing the map Berezne I try to join and right before the "Join" button comes up I crash to desktop. No errors, no PB kicks, nothing, just back to desktop. (same happens if I am on the server when the map comes up in rotation and doesn't seem to matter the size of the Berezne map).
I have reinstalled twice now and nothing. PB updated, etc. For me I guess it just means a forced break from the game when that map comes up.
Side note, it seems like the hits are not registering most the time on the server (i.e. tanks run over mines with no effect, AT does not kill Dingo after 4 hits?, etc). I know others were saying the same thing last night. Does the server need a reset?

Re: PoE2 problems
Berezne kicks me down too, and I haven't figured out why, but I'll post when I do...

Re: PoE2 problems
Just found this on the net. I don't know if this will work or not...I'm at work and I can't check my system to see how these folders are setup. So its up to you guys having this problem. I hope it works....heres the quote from another forum......
Simply rename the BF2 folder in My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles named 0001 , to something other than that like 0002 ,0003 , 0004 ect just make sure you rename the folder named 0001 (for some reason the account when in that folder '0001' seems to have crash to destop issues, but renaming it to '0002' ect seems to fix it.) I found this solution because my girlfriends profile '0001' was having crash to destop problems almost everytime she tryed to join a game , while my profile '0002' was having no problems whatever. First I tryed deleting her profile and redoing her settings and still was getting the crash to destop with her account but when i renamed her profile folder '0003' and then tryed to play no more crash to destops , so I hope this helps , please tell me if it helps any of you , i think ea must have some buggy code attached to the 0001 profile that is causing this issue.

Re: PoE2 problems
I tried Goat's folder renaming trick, but no dice. I finally just reinstalled the game, and I'm back in business.
