Car Jacking needs to be seriously looked at now....

Admins: Additional Server Rule Implementation Request.
Subject: Vehicle Jacking

As of late vehicle jacking is becoming a problem. To me, jacking someones ride while on a defensive point should be an warning with kicking for repeated actions.

It cost us a flag tonight because somebody wanted to go Nascar'ing after removing a dingo overlooking a flag that was actively firing on enemy troops. I came very close to C4'ing the "Tards" that were at fault. Please do something so we don't have to keep enduring this. Including jacking armor when the driver is repairing his vehicle. I think if its taken seriously and people are punished for this, it will deter further problems. We shouldnt have to worry about watching the blue dots on the mini maps approaching ur vehicle when ur trying to play.

Thank You!

I think it is just the influx of a lot of new faces. A rule would be fine about car jacking but lets try and teach them yoda style... then if that fails we C4 their nads.

This has been an increasing issue lately - tanks, dingos, etc.

I agree with Greasy - make them aware first in global chat, and if it repeats with the same player, report them and we can start the green text. Depending on their response, we can start Plan B earlier.

I suggest making them endure one of Greasy's "All Nude" shows. That'll put them in their place.

oh man Goat... way to bring up my biggest issue.

I have in the past in general chat called out guys for doing it... the influx of pubbies that don't care what is 'typed' teamed with the increase in non english typing / reading players... makes that plan "less than interesting".

is there an admin override for punished TKs?!?!? I say C4 them!

it was fun last night to be 'booted' from an HsT squad cause another one of the 'jump for no reason' players had joined.

SL - "one of you has to go, my buddy is here."
proj - "oh, oh, I'll go."
(I left too, but took time to laugh at how quickly Project 'opted out.'

Hah! You and I were in some interesting squads last night. I think I was called simple last night but not sure.

I think Snake Eyes was the funniest:

"yeah, she's hot"
"you going to date her again?"
"thinking about it"
"yeah, she's hot"

Now that's tactical.

This up there with friendlies driving over clearly marked mines. A full APC barreling over said mines. Perhaps after they have helped themselves to goats ride?
You have some options.

You can just stay in the gunners seat and if you survive the trip, which has happened once or twice you can drive back. Until they respawn and the vicious cycle repeats itself.

Or become a SL and order a SM to hold a defensive position in the driver seat for 30 minutes. Whatever works.

Re: Car Jacking needs to be seriously looked at now....

no doubt. that was beyond...

so here were 2 regular TG fella... me and project... We joined a pubby squad to try and spread some tg love... and we can't contribute to our squad. cause they want to talk about some girl they know from work.

back to Goats Thread

I'm not sure what we can do... I again feel this is a topic that can be addressed here in the forums, but our target audience is not going to read it...

not a one of them noticed when they dozerjack me, and I jump out and shoot the back of the thing as they drive off...

I jummped into a hummer last evening, and started to drive off... and stopped.. there wasn't anyone in it initially... but when I noticed him in the gun seat. I quickly jumped out. I figured he wasn't defending, cause the hummer was sitting in its normal parking spot at light house. I didn't think anyone but me, just jumps in the gunner seat withthe vehicle parked in the same spot. : )

Re: Car Jacking needs to be seriously looked at now....

Well, I've tried to be nice and direct in the chats about taking / stealing / borrowing occupied vehicles. Usually with no response because they really don't give a damn who the vehicle belongs to in the first place. And they have no excuse of being a "New Player on the Server." I'm sorry but that doesnt fly with me. If you have any tactical sense about you and you see a friendly vehicle in front of you firing on enemies.....do you go up and take their vehicle....well hell no..duhh!!!...
But if your an ejected turd from the bowels of vanilla, and you have a run and gun attitude, then most likely your gonna take the vehicle. Because you really dont have any idea what the word tactical means....

Another reason why I wish there was a way to lock the vehicle out......

Bunny hopping usually pisses me off....but at the rate of the vehicle jackings lately that has really started to agitate my old ass.... As my late Father would say, "Enough is enough is enough."

I've about come to the conclusion of spawning "Spec Ops", setting a coupla C4 packs on my ride.....going to the point and engaging....if the vehicle is jacked then, i'll get out and politely remove the vehicle from the game so that it may respawn...I figure that the simple idea of C4 being clearly marked on the vehicle should be a sign to a "Turd" DO NOT ENTER!! Its up to them and their actions to be jack a vehicle I have already claimed.
Nuff Said...yea I know its a TK but they are "Pre-Warned" persay....

Re: Car Jacking needs to be seriously looked at now....

For someone who doesn't notice the vehicle is occupied, the "Bail out" message works. However, this is one of the messages that no longer shows up on text chat. Greasy, could you guys put that one back in? That wont solve the problem but it may help with the accidental carjacking.

Carjacking happens to me all of the time, too. I usually don't get upset about it if the person is using the vehicle to advance the battle. But when someone uses it only to get to their favorite sniping spot or to get to tanks/aircraft quickly, i get a little annoyed.

I really shouldnt be talking but I will. I havent noticed it much lately but you old folk play l8er than I do. The few times someone does it to me, Im about ready to scream at them. I will constantly spam Bail Out but they dont listen.

And is Karkland like the poster child map for Vanilla or what?

Ya, its amazing that even after you tell them the tank was empty because you were fixing it, they just ignore you and drive away with it. "But I didn't know, it was empty when I jumped in it", and away they go. funny thing is it was not empty because someone was in the machine gun seat covering me.

Sound like anyone you know Fighter?

I was going to say that what I do in the privacy of my own car is none of your business, but then I was concerned that I had misread the topic again...
