10-23 Fallen: The Fight for North Cabin

    UKR Squad

    SL: HiTest
SM: grep, cyco, Zippy, Vectorline, Xray

Mission: Capture and Defend North Cabin

Our first phase of the mission was for my squad to travel the western side of the map and rally due NW of the North Cabin Falg. With out any resistance from the OPFOR, my squad gathered at the move marker and set up for our assault. My orders were for my squad to throw all their smoke grenades at the flag and to fight inside the flag radius. With little contact from the GER team, the North Cabin Flag was now in the hands of the UKR. I had my squad sweep the area around the cabin and set up defense. Zippy had the orders to set up on the Eastern flank and spot OPFORS coming from their Main Base. The rest of the squad set up D on the southern front, right on the river bed, picking off any enemies that tries to cross the River Styx. My job was to watch our NW flank.

    Second Phase:
The OPFOR tried numerous times to attack from the South and were succesful breaching our side on a few occasions. With the likes of grep and cyco running around, shock paddles out, reviving every member of our team that went down, it made it very difficult for the GER side to really get a foothold on our territory. OOPS i spoke too soon. They flanked us with two full squads from the NW, the side that yours truly was responsible for. That flag flipped very quickly and soon fell into the hands of the GER side. My squad was wiped out <shrug>. MY orders were clear, Hold spawn, were going back to take OUR CABIN!!.

    Final Phase:
With a push very similar to our initial roll out, my squad crossed the river and engaged the enemy due SW of the Cabin Flag. Vectorline and Zippy were clearing a path of metal that led straight to the flag radius. My orders were to be very aggresive and flip that flag as soon as possible. We secured the flag and what ensued was an all out assault by the same two squads that took our flag in the first place. Out numbered two to one, the flag fell into the enemies hand, but what was different about this was the fact that I was able to stay alive and give my team a spawn point and a chance for revenge. I kept low, telling my squad not to fire from my position, and to keep putting pressure on the OPFOR. This assault went on for what seemed to me to be an eternity. The enemy was closing in on my position and I was completly out of ammo. I could see ParkBench coming directly at me 20 meters away, 15 meters away, 5 meters away. I thought it was over. Then like a gift from heaven, cyco spawns in and just flattens Bench. Next Vectorline spawns in support, throwing ammo bags like they were Christmas presents. Our time was now to take back what was ours, the North Cabin Flag. We pushed hard on the flag and finally flipped it in our favor. WOW, what a fight. With a hundred ticket lead and time running out, I gave my squad a little extra bonus for hanging tough with me, a new mission, assault Trenches. We swept east and captured the Trenches flag from the south with little to no resistance. The match was over and it was time for my heart rate to slow down a little.

A final Thank You to my squad. You guys fought your hearts out and never got distracted or discouraged. We all did the little things collectively, followed orders, used smoke cover, spotted enemies, watched each others back, all to perfection. This was one well oiled piece of machinery. So hats off to you guys. Cyco and grep without your shock paddles we would have been picking daisies all night long. WELL DONE!

    Thats my story, whats yours?

I sent reinforcements on multiple occasions to bolster the assaulting squad. North Cabin fell to our forces, yet pulling my reinforcements from the zone resulted in losing the Cabin.

Yes, that was a lot of fun. Hitest's Squad Leading was textbook, and the squad really worked well together. Clear orders, roles and communication were the key traits to this, or any for that matter, squad. Did we get best squad? No. Did we hold our designated flag for the majority of the round? YES. Did OUR TEAM win the round? YES. I hold the latter two with great value.

Thanks Hitest and squadmembers for a really enjoyable, and at times intense, round. That positive energy kept me going with a smile for the many rounds that followed until my eyelids were thoroughly fatigued...

You dont count. When you are a medic in my squad, the "Leaderboard" (whatever that means), starts with #2.

Oh good.. then that was me! cyco did school me in medic though!

Great round, lots of fun... great SLing by HT and awesome squad. Glad HighTest got me back into this game after a year of collecting dust.

    A new rig helped too!

Re: 10-23 Fallen: The Fight for North Cabin

Im wondering if someone can change the name from North Cabin to HiTest's Cabin, just for a brief time. Im really surprised that it doesnt get the amount of action as Crash Site and Trenches do. Its an awesome flag to attack or defend from either teams perspective. Is there a reason for this disrespect on a flag i love to hold? Is it the fact that Crash Site allows an individual more chances to improve his or her K/D? Am i missing something strategically?

Last night I took a crack at it along with 2 others from another squad. We tried twice, held it for about a minute, then it fell back to Germans both times.

Re: 10-23 Fallen: The Fight for North Cabin

As I pointed out in text chat during the final moments of the round.. well done boys...

When We did have the flag for a few moments. I hadn't seen HiTest DEAD marker go by, so I knew as soon as we rolled out, we'd lose the flag again. so, I lingered...

As we all know... I can't do much alone. I headed to where I figured Test would be... history... I found him, and then... like in Jedi, when the rebels come out of hyper-space... There was test alone, in my scope... then wham, wham, wham I watched his squad come out of hyper space and take me out handily.

Caged was running the show, so I tried to stay on his order / point... but I was itching bad! to go back to north Cabin... You don't get better at the game by attacking flags that aren't defended like that one!

    Nice work, nice write up.
