This has gone far enough!
Allright I've had it with people. IF YOU JOIN A SQUAD IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT VOICE IT IS, YOU STICK WITH IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!! Its nothing but nonsense! I've had it with SL'ing, CO'ing and whatever else leadership positions there are, because even if people stay, they dont take me seriously and half of them just quit the second they hear a small voice as their SL. You may see me alot less around now because I've had it.
You could call this rant concluded.
It would not be a good idea to laugh at this.

Sorry to hear some people do not give you a fair shake man. I hope they are not TG regulars. Personally I have no issue with your age, it's maturity I care about. I would join your squad any day bro, thanks for supporting PoE!

Re: This has gone far enough!
Lots of us know ya, Fighter (yes, both the good and the bad!) and you do a pretty good job as an SL when you stick with it. More importantly, you're always getting better.
Don't get discouraged, roll with the punches, and keep plugging away. You're doing just fine, buddy.

Re: This has gone far enough!
Fighter, when I first came to TG, I took a lot of crap, along with pwn3ge because of our age and voices. Just keep your cool and take it with a grain of salt. Your balls will start to drop soon. Don't worry about it man. Just take some breathes and calm down. Some people have little tolerance or a small prejudice towards young gamers in a mature game. These people can be complete idiots at times, but just brush it off your shoulder, try not to raise your voice, because to be honest when you yell it does hurt my ears as the mic makes it applify to a pitch I don't wanna go.
Your not going to be able to change the way people think.
But, you can change the way you act to minimize the annoyance you may or may not have on people.
Limiting your comm is key
Also, being a smart and tactical SL will make people want to re-join your squads
Now, if they are being dis-respectful in a way of calling you names regarding your voice, thats a different story. Report them and I'm sure an admin will deal with him. Don't get all pissed off becase a few guys don't like a kid to be leading them.
Its a topic I can relate to, maybe not to your extent, but I know what its like ot think no one actually thinks your serious. This is a problem that is affecting a few games and I think people need a reminder to look past the voice and at the maturity and intelligence of the player...
One may be suprised.

Yeah, what Sonic said. You are still kind of new.. I know when I played PoE and the other BF2 flavors.. there were some young voices then too.. Khaerus probably remember them. Let your actions in game make your point for you, not the sound of your voice. We'd team up with those 'young voices' they were (are) good players.
Sure you'll take some ribbing.. HELL - I took a pretty constant ribbing and it wasn't even because of what I sounded like.. well not most of the time.
Now if it is outright abusive - again - exactly what Sonic said.

Re: This has gone far enough!
Maybe they just got tired of being in a vehicle that keeps driving over the same mine, time and time and time and time again.
Its an easy excuse to think thats it's just age or voice they don't like, have you thought it might be something else?
Have you asked others how you could be a better squad leader?
Do you order people around too much? Are you aksing them for suggestions when tactics are'nt working? Are you letting them enjoy the game as much as you are? Are you upset that they did not do exactly what you wanted even though what they are doing is still very usefull? Are you expecting too much from a bunch of people just playing a game to have some fun?
Have you sat back and read your post again, and thought about what that looks like to others?

These are all excellent points.
I'll stick with a squad even if his/her voice is one only dogs can here...
But I will bolt for the following reasons:
1. No orders.
I am confident you are not guilty of this Fighter, but even one of my own - 3dGN Deanna - does not put the orders on the minimap, so I will not stay in her squad (usually she only makes a squad to round all the 3DGN'ers together - such a mom).
2.a. Orders take the place of fun.
There are several of you who are wayyyy more tactical than I could ever be. Hats off to you. But if you are extracting fun from the game by coming up with some strategic opus that gives you wood, but does not work the 5 times we tried it before and doesn't {resemble} fun, I'm gone.
2.b. Berating the squad members.
I know we are in a "conflict" - but its a fake conflict. If I didnt carry out your orders perfectly or I spawned in before you told me to go Engi so I could fix the windmill - this should not result in a diatribe over VO. Or at least not for me - that's not how I play the game.
3. The obvious - a sniper who made a squad so he didnt get booted, but has no intention of leading any kind of attack of a flag.
-- When you die, I am going to go over and teabeg you.

Exactly. Things happen for a reason.
Respect on the Battlefield is earned by actions, not words, or age. When you have it people will join your squad, and stay in it without you having to ask them. I give you credit for trying, but SL'ing 30-40 yr old men is not going to be an easy task as a 13 year old. Lose the micro-management, and keep the comm to only useful and positive info and you will do much better. TG regulars and most good players really don't need more than general direction, and a good spawn point.

This is a good point in general. There are several SL's that talk and talk and it general doesn't go anywhere. Finally people's ears hurt and they leave. I would say, you are not with your mates haning out, you are SL'ing at TG.

Re: This has gone far enough!
Peer Pressure is a bitch ain't it.......Fighter we all know your ins and outs and ups and downs. You let to much get to you and you do some goofy things sometimes. But don't feel like a hero on that. We all do it from time to time. Its not the pitch of your voice bro. Its what forms and exits your mouth that influences others actions. Combined with your actions and tactics and what you say is the end result of how people take you. It has nothing to do with having a voice that hasnt "broke" and lowered an octave yet.
Are you throwing this thread out because some guy the other night mentioned your voice sounded like a girl. I remembered you went ballistic just about over that. Why...his statement dont mean crap. If it did then "Saptiva" would be in living hell because of her gender. Its not how your voice sounds.....its the actions you take and the words you form.

Uhm...Wheres the problem? They hear your voice, decide that youre probably a 13 year old kid that has no clue what hes doing as SL and would explain his orders with "Because thats what i want you to do" rather than a rational explanation so they decide not to be in your squad. Sounds like a fairly reasonable thing to me.
Hell, just you making a deal out of it goes to show that youre taking both yourself and the game far too seriously to be respected even the slightest.

Why not? Its just an online game, the best solution for this whole thing is to just laugh it off.

Re: This has gone far enough!
Fighter i agree with all the above posts,
We do Sq with you, I try and help you but most of the time you just don;t want to listen. I am not telling you what to do, I just try help you do it better or in a better way.
In no way does anyone care about your voice, They care about there orders. When you start yelling at me that i am not doing exactly something you said, really make me look to a new Sq the next round.
Most of us older guys know how to get the job done. just put the arrow up on the screen.
You might want to try an experimnet Sq lead with out voip just use the mini map icons .I know this is not a good way to lead but it will help you use that tool with out yelling at people to be where you want them. just try one round of it.
Broad orders are better then anything when you are learning, "hold this flag", "take this flag".... ect
lastly you are not a bad Sq leader but you do talk way to much on voip... If i am hiding and can't hear people coming its all for not..
read these posts and learn from them don't quit ...... and when we help you take that help we are doing it for a reason to make you better at what you do....

Re: This has gone far enough!
[I speak in general] I know he talks a lot and all , he does good and bad things. but we should give him a break . i know its a mature gaming community and i respect that , but its hardcore pressure from him ; where all players average out at like 27 years of age (im 20 soon , soo i know somewhat) , and hes there , 13. He has to handle school, homework, peer pressure , his parents, and now its the gaming ? like we might think that its '"oh just a game with rules and everyone should be ok and go with it'' , but unfortunatly a lot of people , young people, take it very seriously and it might effect their self esteem , but also there health. At that age you don't know much about the world .
Yes , he should take a look at the other threads and learn from them(for example , less voip and more map direction). But we should also be taking any threats from other players about his voice or other things , seriously .
Fighter , just don't let go man, ure doing a fine job.
Cyco.

Re: This has gone far enough!
No offense Fighter but I work at a middle school and I have to deal with 13 year olds all day.So the last thing I want to do at night is to listen to another.Just keep at it and people will join you and your squad
