Operation Acorn: The Battle on Hill 112

    Monday night 9pm EST.

    UKR
    SL: HiTest
SM: Rockford, Squinty, Zippy, Bandana, Jockeftc

    Roll out.
My squad had the daunting task to control both the Forest Flag and Roadblock. My orders were for Rockford (Spec Ops) and Zippy (Medic) to control the Forest Flag as long as possible. The rest of my squad was zoned in on full defense of the Roadblock Flag. Squinty and Jockeftc both placed mines on the main road coming from the GER main base and loaded up their AT's. Bandanas job was to keep those boys supplied with enough ammo to take out all enemy forces.

1st phase. Defense on Road Block

"Contact, Enemy APC and one fast mover full loaded" was the first call out for what was to become an all out battle on the famous Hill 112. With all the mines laid out, the enemy APC had a difficult time advancing, but, Khaerus and his fast mover got thru. My boys quickly converged on Khaerus' squad and grinded their advancement to a halt. My ATs then shifted their attention on taking out the APC in which case they did. "Get ready guys, another fast mover is on its way." Rockford gave me quick intel that the Forest Flag is under attack by Project. Oh great!!! Projects' squad, led by Esco proved to be way too much for Zippy and Rockford to handle. We lost the Hill. No time to worry about that, in that fast mover was khaerus and his gang, trying to assault the Roadblock flag again but waiting for them was Squinty and his trusty AT.

2nd phase: Fight for the Hill

With the Forest Flag lost to the GER team, I decide to switch tactics a bit. My orders were for Squinty to stay at Road Block and defend while the rest of my squad attacked that sacred hill. Wait!!! Contact! Enemy units on the move! Two full squads came rushing down the hill trying to take our flag. My squad tightened up the D and did an awesome job defending our flag, medics were reviving, everyone was spotting, constant comms. Pure teamwork. After we pushed the enemy back off our flag, it was time for us to attack. I decided to take the west flank of the hill while the rest of my squad went up the east side. Rockford, Zippy, Bandana and Jockeftc blazed a path of metal, killing everyone insight. Hill secure, for now that is.

    End game: The final assault.

With the UKR team having an upward of 100 ticket lead and time dwindling, the GER team launched their last ditch effort in trying to re capture the Forest Flag and steal a victory. They launched a two squad assault, one from the north of the Forest Flag and one squad from the Road Block Flag. What ensued was just flat out total carnage. Project was running around lambasting us from the north and khaerus was squeezing us from the south. We put up an awesome fight. There were screams of "MEDIC" everywhere, gunfire flailing in all directions, smoke being blown, the sounds of grenades exploding. I mean it was sensory overload to the max. I tried to keep cool and stay alive for my team, offering them a chance at respawning multiple times but we were just outgunned 2 to 1. The Hill was lost!

There was a lot of blood shed on that infamous hill and this battle will go down as one of TGs finest (IMO anyway).
What my squad acheived on this night is what TG is all about. Six guys working together, doing everything right, all for one goal, Victory. We might not of held both flags for very long but we never lost them both. It was a monumental fight on Hill 112 and both teams should be congratulated. Thanks to Project, khaerus, grep, ishotcha, esco and many others from the OPFOR for really bringing the heat. Big shout out to Real Caged, Eflight and the rest of the UKR team for their support on the back two flags. Im sure it was no cake walk back there.

    Cheers

You guys seemed to be everywhere, so I wondered if you were leading on both flags. You guys played like a squad of 8 or 10, nice work.

I heard "how can they be everywhere" a few times. Every time I ran back to road block jocket shot me in the head with an AT.

My squad was mainly on road block, but I just can't resist that hill. We even had some fun times trying to get to the back flags.

That's always been one of my favorite maps.

Thanks for the AAR Test. I was enjoying the quality of the teamwork that we were going up against on that map. They were aggressive and were hitting us in waves, I could hardly pick up my drink before a full squad started appearing out of the woods with guns firing.

Nice write-up. That was a fun battle, if not a little frustrating- You guys had the good squad-work thing down nicely, and we couldn't break you.

I'm hoping I get some of that crew back tonight- they got thrown in the hot pot last night, but with a little experience, I think we can do a fair sight better in those close-up fights...
OPS, the bacon is on you.

The rear guard was an integral part of our win. It was a comforting feeling looking over my shoulder and seeing both you and Eflight behind me. It doesnt happen often that you and I are on the same team.
