which version?
I've just reinstalled BF2 (w/ all the trimmings) and I'm think of joining the modded crowd. P.R. looks cool, but I couldn't really tell with the POE variations theme was. I've been playing 2142 (and I'm getting tired of the maps) for the last year or two, and BF2 and Spec Force before that. Any thoughts?

Re: which version?
Welcome to TG, McKee.
As you might have guessed, the thoughts of those of us who frequent the PoE2 forums are that PoE2 is very much the best of the best. It's a faster, smaller-scale game than PR, certainly.
That said, try all these free mods to see what floats your boat. We'll see you on whichever battlefield you choose...

Re: which version?
McKee, the post in the PR section by Tarthkin is pretty good.
You'll find PoE2 to be the closest to BF2142 or BF2 Vanilla, while PR is a much more slower paced tactical mod.
Since both are free, all you need is time to try both!!

Hey McKee! Welcome!
For PoE2, you want version 2.5. Check out the links in my sig for an overview of exactly what the mod is and how to download it and get started!

Re: which version?
As I said in the other thread, PR is great, PoE is awesome! PoE is a good stepping stone to learn all of the tactics, (people over here tend to be a bit nicer about those kinds of things. shhhhhh!!! dont tell!) But if you are today's Napoleon Bonaparte, go ahead and try PR.

Re: which version?
PoE2 has no orbital/arty strike just a smoke strike, some of the weapons if not all only carry smoke and no grenades, weapons are always the same for each kit as they do not get upgraded, there is no spawn beacon or rally point, so if your squad leader goes down you had better make sure he gets revived, the sights on the gun are the actual sights of the gun, steel tips etc, and they sound Awesome!! There are no awards or badges to be earned, just points.
That is just a taste of what I have seen as I have only been playing it a few weeks but I am sure that if I am wrong or have left something out the good folks here at Pownville will correct me accordingly.
But sure give them all a try, all you have to lose is a week or two of your life, that is not asking much is it?

Re: which version?
Maybe sure you don't have the ranked filter checked. No mod servers will be ranked.
