Operation Defib - Olesko Frontline 3-17

Word came out of the Ukraine camp that the Germans were mounting an offensive, on a most important foothold, The Keep at Olesko. Two six man squads were to be sent out to capture the Keep and hold off any German advance. My mission was to capture the first two checkpoints while the other squad, lead by Ishotcha, flanked them and kept them from advancing on the castle.

We rolled out of our main and directly pushed on the first checkpoint without any problem. Next stop was the courtyard flag. We pushed on the flag hard and met little resistance since Ishotcha basically held them off outside long enough for my squad to take and secure the flag. We set up a defensive position inside the keep trying to clean up any stranglers that may have squeaked past us. Ishotchas squad pushed East and tried to capture the next checkpoint. While this was going on, I had my squad all spawn with the medic kit. I then directed everyone to get outside and get to the aid of our fellow teammates. We captured the Forest Flag and planned on defending this flag for the rest of the match. Thats when the fun began.

The OPFOR came charging from their main in sort of like a Zulu Dawn fashion that did not stop till the final ticket was lost. My orders were simple REVIVE EVERYONE, LEAVE NO MAN DOWN. We were a mobile MASH unit that came to the aid of any fallen member of the UKR team. "If you have another kit other than medic, your doing something wrong!", "Get him up!!!", "Do not forget your downed brothers!" were some quotes I gave to my squad over Voip that, I dont know, it kinda added to the moment. The sounds of "BZzzz", "Recharging", "Medic" could be heard from miles away and it is something i will never forget. The GER squad was ferocious in their attack but had an uphill battle, literally, to take that flag we were defending. Kudos to them for never quitting and much props to Ishotchas squad for seriously kicking tail.

To my squad, Thanks, I hope you had as much fun playing that style as I had in leading you guys.

    Cheers

Thumbs up Re: Operation Defib - Olesko Frontline 3-17

Great job last night Hitest and fellow team members. The medic squad was a good idea and a lot of fun. Having to do so many quick revivals, I think I got more shock paddled kills than gun kills

I was on the other side of this fight in the 6MD squad. We got pushed back at the beginning and could never get our legs under us after that. I'm still not exactly sure how to tactically tackle these smaller Frontline flags. Better to go "balls to the wall" with everyone on the same flag, or "leapfrog" flags with multiple squads? I tried the latter on a round of Frontline/Fallen one night and it worked for a while, but we lost in the end as my "leapfrog" squad got way out of position.

For this Olesko round we did finally get the high ground at the very end, and I thought we were going to get that flag back but still didn't have quite enough to break through.

This does now explain why several enemy infantry came barrelling out of the treeline waving their hand paddles at me. Usually folks are a little more sneaky with their paddles (or knives) when they zap me.
