What's the problem?
What's the problem? The other night 5/5/09 I had a very disturbing experience. Let me start off by saying this......... I have been playing on the TG POE 2 server for over 2 years now. I have supported TG in many ways. I respect Tactical Gamers and what it represents. I respect MOST of the players and Administrators on this server and I feel I get the same in return. I do my best to obey to the rules, I think I have been successful due to the fact that I have not been banned..........THIS Is my issue..... I was told to unlock a two man squad. Me and an other player have been doing this for over a year....... NOW! All of a sudden we are not allowed! Why?? Show me, direct me to a link that states that this is not allowed. Why was this all of a sudden an issue? There has been some unusual things happening in the last month that is cause for concerned to me and an other player. I have disregarded most of the occurrences as coincidences, until now. I am starting to see a pattern, and I find It disturbing. I think that the upper management of Tactical Gamers needs to reevaluate the people they pick as Administrators. I sincerely believe that possibly more then one should be looked at rather closely. I like to play on the TG servers, But at this point, I feel that I have been unfairly treated...... I am not the only person that feels this way. I have spoken with many, many people outside of tactical Gamers, and when I mention the name TG, people get an attitude, and say bad things. This is not good. As I stated before, I support you.... I stick up for TG. That's who I am! I support the people who I am close to. I feel that a part of my life has been spent on the TG servers and I am proud of that. I think consistency needs to be a key factor, and it needs to be enforced.

Re: What's the problem?
Berd......The admins, Are a good bunch of people, If You wanted to see Admins who were self motivated in reason, there was one here a couple years ago, POE2 is not TG's "Main Mod" for BF2 but none the less it's supported, To my understanding similar rules apply at PR as rules for POE2 but they aren't exactly the same.
Locked 2 man squads are Not Tactical Glory, a Two man squad is a good way to not contribute to your team so much as you contribute to your own Personal 1337ness.
The Admins running the server right now are a good bunch of guys, You haven't been un-fairly treated you've been Treated to the Standard of how the server is run, If you stick up for TG You'd be squad leading, and leading 6 guys to a good Teamled effort in victory.
what do you get in a Two man squad anyways.....a Medic and an AK47?
or just two 1337 snipers.
2 man squads are something Long discussed to be a Cast on a healthy leg, there's no need for 2 men in their own private locked squad.

Re: What's the problem?
I appreciate your opinion, but your missing the point. You are not a regular player of POE 2 and I am specifically talking about this mod, not TG as a whole. Your comments about the reasons for a 2 man locked squad are not relevant. I am asking for someone to show me in the rule set that a two man locked squad is not allowed.

Re: What's the problem?
I end up running a two man locked squad at least once a night when I play. Why lock it? It is the responsible thing to do. If the two men in the squad are trying to do something (for whatever the reason) and they can't use another man or lead multiple people doing what they are, then they should lock it. Otherwise there are going to be 4 soldiers running around without effective leadership in a Sniper/Jet/Helo/Spec Ops squad.

Re: What's the problem?
We've been discussing this in the admin forum. Like you, we want to make sure we're all on the same page here when it comes to expectations. We'll reopen this thread for discussion shortly

Also - Dirty, while we appreciate you withholding names, this thread should have been posted in the Contact an Admin forum. That being said, I'll leave it here so everyone can see the resolution - to make sure we all understand what's expected with respect to specialty/locked squads. We'll open it back up for discussion then.

Re: What's the problem?
It is correct to say we don't have a rule about locked squads and the SOP is specifically a guideline for typical play. Without hard coding some sync issues in the degree of related enforcement can develop but we should have some better consistency going forward. In general we want to be mostly hands off and let players feel free to take up specialization or experiment.
Locking a squad should be used with care. Use it sparingly when a mission calls for a specific player count. A team that starts fracturing itself into too many locked/small squads can be very negative for team cohesion and directly result in a loss. If we see too many of these squads you can be sure we will get noisy to combine squads like we have in the past.
Problems involving squad locking where someone can get themselves in trouble are
- lonewolfing - the one man locked squad
- intentions to isolate oneself from the rest of the community - just wanting to do whatever with certain people all the time
If an air crew wants to lock their squad in the interest of cohesion then go for it. If shotcha wants to run another 2man squad on Blue Nile to attempt to steal the Cobra I want to support that. If two players want to run a mortar squad on Depot I want to support that too and on down the line with other examples we could all come up with. In dirty's case he will get a more detailed answer to his situation in pm.|TG-12th|mantis
