Sunday's scrim and follow-up rounds.
One of the best game nights ever.
Map was great, nice to see the Kerch Keep re-used on another map. Some issues that broke fluidity which I will post about in a separate thread.
2 official rounds played on this map.
1st round

USA capped out with 270 ticks remaining.
2nd round

USA capped out with 249 ticks remaining.
Followed by Woodland which I didn't get a screenshot of.
Followed by the most epic round of Fallen ever:
And Risen after that.

Drunken was a machine today! Khaerus = one man army. And Speedy Zippy's new i8-core computer was literally running circles around me (in the "Quote of the day" game)!
Quote of the day (not sure who said it): "Just wait for Punkbuster to kick Zippy". Allow me to elaborate, we capped them out, Zippy was the last remaining opposing player, we were all to busy congratulating each other, couldn't find a volunteer to go after the dangerous Zippy, and figured sooner or later he's going to get punkbusted anyway... haha.
This was a very good / unusual turn out, different people showed up for first half and second half games. As many as 40? players showed up for different parts of the day. Even TG Bear's new Brazilian friends showed up for most of the scrim, good job.

Wow, lamest excuse, ever. lol. Get a laptop cooling pad. They're cheap and highly effective. I would know, all the computers I own are gaming laptops, no desktop system. I have two cooling pads at work, one at home, and keep one in the car at all times. Speaking of laptop systems... I forgot to switch my system to "high performance" for today's scrim (left it on energy saver mode overnight), resulting in me getting outgunned in most gunfights. =/ Let me know if you need help finding a cheap laptop cooling pad, they're as low as $5. Heck, here's a cheap solution, just point a fan at the base of your laptop.

That gem belonged to Test, and it busted us up pretty good, lol.
I had a great time, and Slaughter's map is a good one! ( I might run around it some tonight.)
And thanks for the props, H4! I had some good rampages, but I also felt like I was far out-gunned myself for most of that scrim- to the point where I was doing dumb tactical things out of desperation, since I felt like I couldn't kill anyone from farther than 15 feet away. When we were hunting down Trouble to end that one round, for instance, I sneaked up to within about 6 feet behind him before I felt like it was safe to unload with my shotgun! (In hindsight, I guess my connection has been acting weird for a few days, but I was crying about getting smacked around so much during those rounds, lol.)
Anyway, it was lots of fun, and thanks to everyone who played. Big thanks to Slaughter as well- it's not everyday we get a great new map to run around on, and ever more rare that we get to fight over unknown turf in a scrim!
If anyone has any constructive feedback on the map, please let Slaughter know- I think he's eager to hear from us on this.

Here's another from an exceptional nite
.
Great Job Slaughter. and everyone who participated
I loved playing on these different maps. We should consider a Sunday and/or Tues "MAPPACK NIGHT" every week!

Yeah, i was pretty surprised as well, i did some serious damage with the shotgun in the first round. Too bad that was just the warmup and i used up most of my shooting skills on that
New map is great, i loved all the close quarter fights, which are always better if you have a crappy ping like me.
The scrim was a lot of fun, thanks for everybody who made it happen.

Re: Sunday's scrim and follow-up rounds.
Hey before I go off creating a new thread here are the changes I've implemented so far
1. Adjusted Castle flag radius so it will not include the attic or the small section of the roof.
2. removed a small section of wall to create a way through near the crate stack so you don’t have to jump over.
3. moved in the out of bounds line across the back behind the US/Disco flag to reduce the area behind it.
I also cleaned up a few little things I found that were not as they should of been... So if you have other suggestions let me know soon so I can include them or let me know and I'll prepare another download... I’m guessing this should do it if you all like the changes...

You guys are funny. Reality is I didn't get PB'd at the end of each round. Just in the beginning, but I wasn't the only one Sunday... unfortunately. My fellow Californian H4H88888, I don't think it was the settings on your laptop. It was the fact that there weren't any Dingos on the scrimm maps !
Summary:
First round we held the Castle by having the SL stay alive the whole round on the top floor (attic) giving my squadmates a point to continually spawn and come down on the attacking team. Buflax, Cyco, TheAlamo, Slaughter and Xeption did a great job defending the whole castle - which allowed Trouble and DWB to capout the other two flags FTW. I would say Slaughter should leave the attic flag cap ON the map as it increases the gameplay to include the top floors of the castle rather than just a battle on the second floor for the flag.
Second round we tried a different strategy which seemed to stretch us a bit thin and led to the capout against us. We just could not get the Eastern flag where Hitest had a spawnpoint on the roof diagonal from the flag. It took us a while to figure out where they kept spawning from and by the time we did it was too late. Khaerus and DrPirate held the West flag and as the last man I just couldn't overcome them both in time - Khaerus gets credit for killing me, not PB. Well done enemy team.
Woodlands was a funny round for me and I believe Bulfak would agree. Short a player (Canadian with heat issues, go figure - lol), Buflak and I had a two man squad that flanked to the US back flag. I found a great hiding spot and Buflak snuck in as a sniper to claymore the flag radius. Every few minutes we would hear -BAM- then Buflak [Claymore] Drunken Pirate . It happened so often we knew DP had to have been shouting all those British explatives over VOIP, and when Counter verified it over text we had quit a laugh - even though we lost the round.
Rest of the night was very fun too. Train Depot ended up with me the last man on the roof of the back flag where I repeatedly killed guys at the roof doorway who kept reviving eachother right in front of me for easy kills. Eflight was cracking up on VOIP as the same player kills filled the screen. I finally ran out of ammo so I let Counter kill me .
Fallen = Epic. Everyone played Great and it was a good way to end the day.
One more thing, while you guys were laughing and drinking Cosmopolitans...
I was busy clearing the bushes of Preying Cyborgs:
-nuff said.
Zzzzzzzzz
