What a night!!

What a fantastic night of gaming last night was! Big props to all those that attended and helped with the map rotation. It was spot on. It was a blast testing things out for the upcoming scrim.

Man, Snake Eyes was a blast. Thanks to my squad mates (JB4, draeh, Elmeistro, Zew and ???) for sticking with me on that one.

Moment of the night, for me anyways: Holding Beach Village Flag on Crimea. I just wanted to get a little practice defending that flag while getting pummeled. We did pretty well in the beginning but they pushed really hard with infantry and APCs along with air support from the Tiger. I think we wouldve lasted longer but our only medic, Cyco, dedided to go get a tank.
Transcript from that event: (total chaos going on all around us)

Buflak: "Cyco, can i get a revive?"
HiTest: "Where the heck is Cyco??"
Cyco: "Im getting a tank"
HiTest: "F@#$^ the Tank!!! revive us"

It was too late and the flag went their way. I soo wanted to kick that friggin Canuck in the nuts!

Well what was your favorite map or moment?

Re: What a night!!

I enjoyed the constant action on Snake Eyes. The Hotel flag always seemed hot. If it was not being assaulted by infantry it was getting pounded with arty by Buflak and Ishotcha.

My favorite moments were when critical assaults were thrwarted by arty or a random nade and a squad member would cry out their angst on VOIP only to be greeted with mr. cool-as-a-cucumber (HiTest) soothing the airwaves with his radio voice using words like, "be patient" and "stay with me now", always keeping things together so we could press on and get the job done.

Lots of fun staying busy all the time. Also, props to HiTest for great situational awareness by calling out kit changes to SMs when they were dead before respawn. Nice job.

Awesome squadleading on crimea, he made losing and getting shredded by the enemy actually fun. We always knew where to go, whats our current objective is and thanks to him, we never gave up. Anyone can keep up the good moral when the team is winning, but doing the same when getting massacred by the enemy is truly a great skill.
Definitely the best round of the night for me. Best moment was hunting Gahlas's tank at upper village, adrenalin rush like nothing else

And the laugh of the night was seeing ishotcha redesigning the buildings of melitopol with some c4. Just when we settled down to listen to the breeze blowing through all that open space, an apc rolled in. I suddenly wished i never gave him those ammo bags in the first place. I guess we looked pretty stupid trying to hide in a building with no walls.

It was pretty fun leading on Kerch, assaulting/defending the Keep for most of the round. Moving around with the blackhawk gunship overhead is a pain, especially when your soldier is incapable of climbing slopes. I told Emdek to grab the .50 pickup kit and he did a pretty good job of keeping it away from our area, letting us cap it back a few times but we could not win it for the team. Fun trying none the less.

Whole night was fun for me, what a difference a 'full' server makes. Some awesome battles for individual flags, back and forth. Close games, etc.

Re: What a night!!

I attempted to join about 8pm CST but just crashed to desktop when the map finished loading. I'll make sure I have everything I need to join in the next populated night!

Re: What a night!!

loll the tank was crucial to our success. Being a medic , as you may know , is very hard , especially when you have to deal with very demanding SL .Lots of peer pressure . I thought the tank was a nice gesture , but ya LOL ya that round was a blast! lots of dying! but overall the night was great apart for the server crash but ya! props to everyone!

lol, oh why thank you so much for forgetting me in your squad list HiTestFest, jk, as I too was trying to remember the name of who was doing the excellent squad leading. Props to my squad mates, as we worked so well as a team, calling out the threats and eliminating. Thanks for doing such a great job, HiTest, keeping your cool under pressure and alot of pressure it was.

Holding the Hotel Beach Flag was also my best moment of the night. We killed at least 10,000+ troops as they continued the neverending onslaught, raiding the hotel and we held our ground as long as humanly possible.

So well said jb4, "a squad member would cry out their angst on VOIP only to be greeted with mr. cool-as-a-cucumber (HiTest) soothing the airwaves with his radio voice using words like, "be patient" and "stay with me now", always keeping things together so we could press on and get the job done." - I couldn't agree more, he kept us focused and on track. It was a moment I won't soon forget.

One other moment, I wont soon forget, was that freaking BlackHawk with the infrared, laser guided, heat seeking cannons. I died 100 X's trying to AT that damn thing but was all worth it when I finally hit one of the little jerks and then got blasted by the cannons as I was enjoying in all my glory, watching his dead body fall. One note to the BH pilot, we would get sooooo close to taking that bird down, it would be smoking like a banshee, then tuck tail and run away, like a scared little girl, to go repair. After all that slaughter, you could have at least let us get one kill on it, lol.

Props to all in attendance, it was such a great night. I have been away from POE2 for such a long time and with that being my first night back, it was filled with great memories. An absolute blast, thanks guys!
