Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
I'm pretty sure I got zapped a few times, but I also think you guys were on my side. Maybe I got zapped by the guys that you guys zapped that were getting revenge.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
It has been ages since I played PoE, and Blonov suggested to our team that we join this event for our tri-monthly Devil's Day*.
I had a blast! Certainly got blasted a lot anyway. I only got a few rounds in and it was funny how I had to adapt back from PR to PoE...so so different. Just remembering things like not having to wait so long for your weapon to settle before shooting, stepping on a med pack actually feels good. You can 'spot' enemies
Anyway, lot's of fun. Those Nuke rounds are crazy. Fallen was absolute mayhem as well!
Thanks for the good games guys!
Cheers,
Note*: the 6th Devil's usually work hard at grouping together on the 6th/16th/26th of each month...instead of spreading out across both teams or running multiple squads, we try to take those 3 days each month to game with each other.

It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
Berezne Frontlines was nice as well, just not the outcome i was hoping for.
Project nailed it, way too much zerging while defending the nuke on Carpathian.
Hmm, maybe we need to discuss some tactics and tips that work well for Nuke Mode.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
On Carpathian assaulting I had a lot of success clearing the north(?) entry points with the benneli. Its the spot where snipers typically drop claymores - I just kept peeking through the breaks in the fence and popping in and out taking down anyone that tried to get close. Our specops had free movement to hit the nuke there and it got destroyed pretty quick from what I remember.
I also noticed in other rounds that a team can really do well just by having a few people hiding near the nuke watching the various angles. Typically the players trying to C4 the nuke focus so much on that job that even if your in plain sight they tend to ignore you. When a team doesn't keep players like this on defense and starts moving in force to every area of trouble that they let people sneak in.|TG-12th|mantis

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
That was me, thanks for the buckshot.
I noticed you did that a few times with good success. Whatever that map was with the really tall building overlooking the nuke, you were laying in the crates right next to the nuke. Test as SL tried a couple of good spots, but that was a tough run to the nuke so by the time we evaded the other 6 guys we were just focused on getting packs on.I also noticed in other rounds that a team can really do well just by having a few people hiding near the nuke watching the various angles. Test: "what the hell are you standing next to me for, get to the nuke"
Good times.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
It was really good to try something new for a change, i had a lot of fun. I think we should do events like this more often, it's a good way to promote the mod and the server.
It would be also a good idea to put in a couple of frontline maps in the regular rotation every once in a while besides olesko, those intense firefights over one flag are really exciting and a good way to try new tactics and roles.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
I agree with Buflak. Lets put the Olesko Frontline to rest for awhile. It ends up with people just camping on the flag radius. One team sits on the flag radius inside Church while the other does the same but inside the Keep.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
At least frontline works well even with low player counts, or is that just me?

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
I agree. I like it with a smaller player count. Im just a little tired of olesko. The flag radius on the center flag is just a little big for my liking.

Re: Nuke/Frontline - Sunday Aug 16th
It felt like this even helped boost the Tuesday numbers. Maybe a map pack night this weekend will help next week's games? Support seems to be there for special nights on the weekends.
