Point of Existence Updates

For those interested, the PoE team recently posted the latest PoE2 update on their website. There's talk of improved surface-to-air missiles and radar, with pictures included. There's also a second PoE2 teaser movie available for download.

By the way, there was mention of a "Digital Assassin" joining the PoE dev
team. Would this be our very own DigitalAssassin?

wow, Tg needs more servers, were not going to have room for all the mods and expansion packs
I mean whenever something new shows up, everyone suggests it should go on server 2, but remember theres only 1 server 2 and theres going to be special forces coming out, plus POE and dont forget Desert Conflict
Isnt the TG-tactical mod still on server 2

Whatever mod gets server two populated should be on server two.

I agree wholeheartedly, whether it's BF2:SF, or a mod; we need to do what it takes to get that server back to its former populated status. Nothing against the tactical mod, but server 2 is almost always empty.

Server 2 was empty LONG before the tactical mod was put there. The Tactical Mod is an attempt to add some depth to the game and since #2 was empty it has been placed there.

One thing I think we should address is the inability of our community to support ALL the mods/ expansions etc out there. Its just not possible for our size to keep so many multiple servers populated and admin'd. I know I don't want to join a server if it has less than 15 people since the gameplay I desire with BF2 is the more expansive epic multiple squad style. We just don't have the numbers to keep two or more servers of 32v32 going.

Possible solutions may be to have server #2 rotate. 1 week of Forgotten Hope 2, 1 week of POE2, 1 week of DC2, 1 week of BF2:SF, etc..

Another solution could be to informally or formally "cross" license with other communities to establish preferred NON-TG hosts. IE we have a good number of DMW people that play here. If they are running a POE2 server, instead of us creating our own (and thus potentially having 2 underutilized servers), we can unofficially or officially with their permission designate that server as a place to play that mod.

There are some recent updates on the Point of Existence website. One thing of interest is the different grenade types for the RPG-7V, including:

- TBG-7V Thermobaric (FAE) grenade
- PG-7VR tandem (dual-warhead) HEAT grenade
- PG-7VL HEAT grenade
- OG-7V fragmentation antipersonnel grenade


Pictures, renders, and other info is available in the update. Hopefully this will be released in the beginning of 2006!

A new update for PoE has been posted!

Point of Existence 01/05/2006 Update

There's mention of some new anti-air goodness, as well as a new mobile artillery vehicle.
