Re: Manual

Good stuff about the Arty usage. And two types of ammo for tanks! Sweet!

This is something PoE:1 had as well, and it's important to be sure you're firing the right type of ammo at the right type of target(!). If you're firing a HEAP round at an enemy tank, don't be surprised if it doesn't do much (if any) damage. Likewise, a Sabot round may not be very effective against a group of infantry.

Re: Manual

The doom dome option sounds nice. I also dig that AT kits now have mines. It looks like support doesn't have grenades which made me cry a little but it makes sense for balance.

I am really looking forward to this now.

Re: Manual

Some other things that sound great for play at TG:

-Squad Hopping – In PoE2 squad hopping is discouraged. While we understand that sometimes you need to find a new squad, generally we feel that this should not happen often. To combat this abuse we have added a 20 second spawn time penalty after you switch squads more than 3 times. After a couple deaths, the penalty goes away. (This is a server side option for servers who want it only)

-Flag Capping – All players on the ground or in a ground vehicle will count towards the flag cap time. You can not capture flags while inside any helicopter, you have to exit the helicopter to do so.

-Commander – In PoE2 commander is set up to direct squads in the battlefield and drop supply crates on the battlefield. However going as commander, you get points the same as the rest of your team.

EDIT: Wow, another great feature is that some maps have either a Frontline or a Nuke version(s) in addition to the normal 16-, 32-, and 64-player Conquest versions.

Re: Manual

Smoke grenade in medic kit....I am over flowing with happy tears.

Only Assualt and Support will have body armor.
Only Spec-Ops and Engine will have grenades.

Re: Manual

Heh, I didn't catch this until rereading (I save all the big words for the second pass) the PoE:2 storyline:

The United Nations condemned these attacks as unjust and illegal but was unable to pass a mandate to take action against the expansionist aims of Ukraine. The UN's inability to act upon the actions of the Ukrainian army only strengthened Ukraine's resolve that they could not easily be stopped. Six months came to pass with no military action against Ukraine but rumors had started that Ukraine was systematically killing their former political competitors. With no clear evidence of the assassinations, the United Nations was still reluctant to take action.

As time passed, more evidence surfaced of executions, illegal imprisonment, and torture; however, it was all unconfirmed information until a Kramaerican Photo reconnaissance satellite passed overhead. The satellite caught pictures of mass graves where the Ukrainian army had been dumping the bodies of political enemies and what appeared to be unarmed civilians.

Kramaerican?

Re: Manual

Some random notes:

- Snipers get binoculars
- According to this page you will CTD on the map Guardian if you run low terrain textures. To be fixed in a patch...
- The 16 player version of The Battle of Sambir is an ALL air map.
- ALL 64 player maps have 5 capturable flags. No Flag hopping maps(Dragon Valley ish) in this mod...
- 5 maps have bombers in them...2 of those 5 maps have no fighters.
- Smoke is given to Support, Medic, Engineer and Assault kits.
- Engineer and Special Ops are the only classes that get nades.
- Most attack choppers get some form of AA missiles
- The APCs main weapon works like a tv guided missile now. Whether that powerful it doesn't say...

Re: Manual

Man, I was hoping for MPAT rounds so we can take out helicopters!

But an all-air map! Talk about no AAA.

Also the special ops have the ability to spot a target for the team artillery, which can turn the tide of battle.

I can't find anything that mentions the Sniper as having this ability as well. Can anyone confirm either way?

I was wondering about this. I guess the outcome will be based soley on kills, rather than any form of ticket bleed(?).

It must be just based on kills to bleed tix. The 16 person version of the map is actually the biggest of the three variations, and has no capturable flags.

Oh man, I need another tissue.

I wonder if Kramerica needs an intern.
