Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
One gripe so far w/ the game mechanics:
1 sabot round from a MBT doesn't kill a chopper. Come on...

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
PoE really have done a fantastic job: the variety of maps, foliage, great new weapons, vehicles, artillery, and on. I'm very impressed. Perhaps even more impressive is that the game is free. I would have happily paid full retail on this game. At least we can drop 'em an e-mail and say thanks!

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
I just got on my PC and checked out all the weapons and vehicles, I hope.
The kit layouts are good.
As a SL, the AT kit will most likly my second most played kit cause u have to aim well to get the job done. The 5 mines are tight also. This also works well for hitting defense bunkers while the squad moves in.
As SM, the support kit will be played often just cause its job is to resupply. It has descent close quaters fighting on auto and single shot is desent at a distance.
One thing i would like to run by everyone is having the CO use the mobile arty device. This would give them some more fun time, allow an extra person to be on the battle field.
Having feedback from their squad leaders they know what targets are the most important to strike at.
If in the UCB, the Commander should be save from an attack, even though they are attacking from the UCB. However, if they leave the UCB with the arty, they are fair game.
Just like before, spec ops can come in an destroy the arty, and of course the commander along with it.
I believe this works out cause from what i hear tell it is hard to get a good arty strike lined up anyway.
Enen thow not every map has arty, i belive the CO can handle both jobs well.
As the CO, they can order somone to get out of their arty. However, if someone wants to try it out the CO should be friendly and all.
The communication the CO has with the SLs would easily allow the best arty strikes on enemy postions.
That is all.
Ohh, and the game is sick awsome.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
Um, I don't believe the arty should be safe in the UCB. I believe that the art pieces would fall under the same guidelins that the rest of the asstes fall under. That would make destroying the arty "legal" when in the ucb. At least that is my very humble opinion.

Yeah I'm with you Snail, it's still too pubified right now on our server. I almost can't even stand playing.

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
Yeah it is pretty brutal out there. The problem I think is there are too many pubbies and it is random run around cap flags and move and that's it. You try to defend a CP and you look at the mini map and half your squad is scattered all over the map. You tell them to come back and stay on the objective and they ignore you. You kick them and they create their own squad of 1 and lock it. There is no way to show these pubbies our style of play because there is no way to show the effectiveness of the TG style when half the server is pubbies.
You can't tell an admin because you would be complaining in TS more than playing. We need a password night for sure. Don't mean to complain and I know we need to be patient but it's really aggrivating.

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
Also, if AT kit came into the UCB were the CO was using the arty, they could start putting rounds on it.
I generally would like the moble arty to be like vanillia arty.
Except now the infantrymen who destroys the arty know has the satisfaction of taking out the Commander also.
And if the arty is foolishly taken from the UCB, the arty is fair game to air power and armor.
As we know, the arty has the potintial to do some good close range damage also. To do this, it will need to be taken from the UCB, were it is fair game.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
The "Dome of Doom" works its magic around UCBs, so a mobile arty gun (and the commander in it) would be quite safe there.

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
after trying out the arty, I reliazed i am an idiot for thinking u can pick up something that is destructive and immediatly make things happen with it on BF2.
I'll have to study up on this thing.
Sorry for the teamkills on the map were the UK won 1-0.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
I commanded a Map, and got some desent order going. We won 1-0.
Agent in the chopper giving me tips on the game and going to places were SLs reported contact.
someone i did not know in the jet making things happen
dwolf in squad 5.
and other disiplined squad leaders.
We could get 3 flags and i had to repeat defense defense, but when i went to spotting or playing with the arty (learned a lot, i suck) sometimes one or two squads would wonder off.
I did not bother to tell the squads to form up, but near they end they did.
I saw some potintial out there.
However, with out a commander, flags just got ganged up on, and we worked more on cardio than anything else.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Thoughts on PoE:2
We have to be patient for a bit. There is a huge influx of new players which we need to sift and mould. As regular TGers do your best to lead squads and CO. You can then show the new guys the potential of our server and style of play. DO report things if players are behaving improperly. If people are not following orders do your best to explain to them and if it doesnt work, get on TS and call an admin. I know it may be frustrating to keep having to spot things out but it is the best way to get the server back into shape.
