Exclamation Encouraging Teamwork on TG PoE2

First, I would like to welcome all our new PoE2 players to TG, hopefully this will be the last place you ever play PoE2.

With that said, I'd like to say a few things to our regulars. Right now we are experiencing a large amount of new players on the server. Here's what you guys can do to help the admins do their job better (All suggestions, these are not new rules):
    • Make yourself a SL, even if it's not something you are accustomed to. You should make your primary role a teaching one, *THEN* a leading one. Teach these new players the rules and ropes we have here at TG. Show them the value of teamplay and it's benefits, and how it makes us the best unranked server around.
    • Try and be on TeamSpeak so you can notify us of any problem players who do not follow orders. Even if you can only do it in chat, it's better than nothing. Be sure to include the name of the offending player and the offense, keep it short. The main thing we need to really focus on is getting squad members and squad leaders to follow orders.
    • Bring back the "Learn_TG" squads. Call it "teamwork" or "VOIP" or whatever you want, but make it known what the intent of your squad is. Most of the new people don't know the regulars by name.
    • Try not to form small 2 or 3 man locked squads unless it is a specialty squad (arty, helo, jets). Don't be greedy with the assets, show the new people how to use them "TG" style. New people should always be included in these squads if at all possible.
    • Try not to form "all TG" squads. I know you like a good teamwork squad, but by having all TG squads and all new player squads, you aren't helping to educate them as to how we do things here at TG. Try to have *at most* 3-4 TG regulars in a squad with the rest being new players. A ratio of 2 to 4 would be preferrable at times when there aren't a lot of regulars around. We as admins can only do so much to help educate players, the rest has to come from the masses who will have more interaction with the people as a whole. If you are the SL and have a full TG squad and a lot of new faces are on the server, ask 1/2 your squad to leave and form up another squad. If no one volunteers, you as the SL have the power to manually volunteer them It's not personal and it's only a temporary thing. In a short time hopefully the new faces will become TG regular faces and all squads will be TG squads

Again, we as admins can only do so much without your help, and what we would have to resort to would be kicks or bans (because we can't talk to everyone). A little help by you in talking to your squadmates will go a long way in turning our PoE2 server into what our BF2 server was

From my experience, having only one member that sticks to you is enough to make the others stick to you to.

So if you're having trouble keeping your squad together, invite one TG regular over to you're squad.

    I've noticed the same thing.

I've started and seen a couple other LEARN TG squads in the past few days. I'd like to see a LEARN TG squad on both teams every night for the next couple weeks. If you sign in and don't see one, and are a competent SL, please start one.

I found myself joining a LEARN TG squad that had 2 pubbies in it, which shocked me that no TG people felt like playing with them. We eventually got a great squad going on the forest map.

Well that's the point Acid, hopefully you should not have a full squad of TG people in a LEARN TG squad. You should have a competent SL and the rest if not one other TG'er should fill out the squad.

I think he means that there were only two randoms alone in there. I would suggest that if you are leading a TG/Learn/Teamwork squad and have to leave and there is noone willing to take the SL position, you should disband the whole squad. I would say that is preferable to having those speciality squads giving a bad impression when someone new finds that it is being led my lEetHaXxor who has no mike.

I have been trying to squadlead more often, I'm doing an Ok job. The newbies in my squads have actually been fairly responsive and willing to follow orders. In fact, only once did I have to remove someone from my squad, some TK'ing loser who kept killing us and saying "pwned." I'm finding there are a lot of people willing to play teamwork, so I keep sending them here! Hopefully the trend keeps up for awhile. Anyways, apologies to any regulars who had to sit through me squadleading

I had a good squad tonight. Saw some new, cooperative faces.

I usually join the MIC and LEARNTG or GRK squads, those are usually the easiest spot as a teamwork squad.

I must say I saw a lot of guys with mics, willing to stay with the squad. I had a very good time yesterday. As long as you got one TGer in your squad you're fine.

I've got a feeling we can see a lot of new TGers in the near future. As long as we all make an effort to preach our style.

I met a guy from *I think* the 130th? Maybe Shiner can chime in on him. Anyway, he was 100% all about teamwork and said his clan was also. I asked him to have them stop by and check us out. Another guy (Pillbox) had a mic and was a good team player. We need to keep talking to them when they are in our squads, we'll bring in some good team players and keep them here

A tip to anyone starting a learn TG squad:

If you decide to end your presence in a controlled way, lock up the squad and tell your squadmembers to go ahead and join another squad or ask for a volunteer on TS to take up a new Learn TG. After all this remove all members from the Learn TG squad and then leave. This way there is less chance of getting the Learn TG squads led by lEetHaXxor who has no mike.
