Rivne

Highway to Hell
Orel

Woodland
Rolling Thunder
Fallen
Red Dawn

Stormfront

As for vanilla maps...currently when we load one everyone on the server gets disconnected through a modified content error. So we are looking into that and obviously will not be loading those until we figure out the problem.
We are working on it.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

I know that may be the odd man out...since everyone loves Fallen and Orel, but would anyone else like to see the new maps played twice in the rotation, since they are new and for the most part a blast to play (no pun intended). Maybe we could drop Lutsk or HH (esp. since its hard to do anything without getting mowed down from the sky). Just an idea...any thoughts? Thanks...

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

Note that while that is technically the maplist, often admins call the map order on the fly in primetime, calling up maps that are going with the flow of the night. e.g. If GER has a couple dominating wins, Spies Like Us may make a visit. And when new maps are released, they're called up in the selection more often. So that maplist is hardly set in stone on any given night.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

I would like to see all the new maps and I would like to see them come up more often than the old maps for a while.

I personally like the Admin rotation. You can definately tell when an Admin is on. Orel and Carpathian have a way of creeping into your life more often...he he.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

Question,

Have some of the new maps been dropped already? I would be against that, it is much to early for that, people have not had a chance to really get to know them. When I first played Fallen I hated it and now it is my favorite map. There are some of the new maps that I played the first day or two and now havent seen them since, never got a chance to really decide if I like them or not. I heard people complaining the first or second day about some of the new maps but I take all that with a grain of salt, easy to have an opinion but I considered all those opinions knee jerk reactions that were probably going to change.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

No maps have been removed, except for the vanilla maps, since there's that modified content bug. We definitely need to give each map its fair turn at large scale gameplay before making rotation decisions.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

I might suggest either removing Highway to Hell or placing it earlier in the rotation. Right now it usually comes on around midnight EST and almost immediately clears out half the server, leaving 30-40 of us on a 64 player map that's already kind of big and boring to begin with.

This is the sort of thing I try very hard to avoid when I am online. There is usually a tipping point around 11pm - midnight where a bad experience followed by the prospect of another bad experience will send everyone running. I like to see all maps get rotation, but when we get into that danger zone, I try to get a popular one into the rotation.

Generally, the timing of the maps should be pretty random, that list gets bumped around quite a bit in the course of an evening.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

For a few weeks i dont see a problem with bumping the new maps into the rotation a bit more often to get some play testing. I did that with Red Dawn last night because it was at the bottom of the list and we hadn't played it much.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

Seriously, throw Woodland in there more than once. I haven't gotten to play that one at all. Everyone says they like it. Is it like Fallen?

It's like Fallen with terrain differences. So even though the flags are not far from one another, you still encounter fire inbetween flags. The flags are well separated so you don't just fire from one flag into the next and there is good cover and concealment. It's a pretty cool map.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

I like the idea of the admins adding 1 of the new maps at 11, 12, or 1 EST to make things intresting, to keep people (including me) from quiting for the night when 2 of the older, larger, and less exciting maps come up (like Highway to Hell, Lustk, Dinpro Sunrise, etc) in a row. That is a great idea and it will also allow us to get more gameplay on the new maps.

Re: PoE2 Map Rotation

The problem I am noticing is that I play at the same time every day for a couple hours and so I only see a fraction of the maps which is fine but I end up seeing the same maps every day. I am thinking that a lot of players have the same habits I do, they play at the same times everyday. Is there a way to change the rotation so we can play more than the same few maps day after day.
