Certain death
After you kill someone, put a few more rounds into him. You'll notice some blood sprays, and more importantly - his corpse vanishes, meaning he can no longer be revived.

Re: Certain death
I actually believe this to also be true in vanilla. In which, in the event that you are put into a critically wounded state, and you get hit with an explosive while you are in that state, it will immediately put you into "full dead" state. (an example would be the artillery, in which I have been put into a critically wounded state after taking a close hit, but after taking a direct hit on my body while still in this state, with another shell from the same volley, it dropped me into the full dead state)
However, I think its much more noticable in PoE, due to the fact that you can continue to recieve the "hit" indicator with your weapon (any weapon, not just explosives), after you are certain that the person is "critically wounded".Focused

...very very interesting. A simple test should be able to proof it.

Re: Certain death
Well, I've shot corpses before after a team member has taken them down (because the body twitched and I thought they were still alive). Keep in mind, I've done this at a small distance and not point blank. I never saw the body disappear, both in POE2 and vanilla. Like I said, I was a some distance, so that may also play a factor. BTW, I am not discrediting your observation.

Re: Certain death
I've done this many times in the last few games. Feel free to test it out.

You even get a hit indicator from shooting the corpse.

Re: Certain death
So, after a session on the server on Fallen and the Carpathian Mountains, shooting enemy bodies do 'kill' them. You put them in 'killed' mode IF you get a hit indicator. It's nice to shoot enemy corpses at the expense of draining enemy tickets faster.

Re: Certain death
You are sure it's not just mutilating the dead body for long enough that they reach their dead-timeout stage?
What I mean is that you may not notice time passing having fun, so that they killed state would also be reached if you did nothing.Gigabyte P35-DS3R, 2GB, 8800GTS 640MB, Core2Duo E8400
