Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
A new news update from the PoE team has reveled that anti personnel mine and a new jet (Su-27 Flanker) is in progress.
Point of Existence news Update #81
The Point of Existence team would like to thank all of the fans (and critics) that are making our 'job' so much fun and rewarding. We appreciate all of the support that we are recieving and want you to know that we are listening to the suggestions and commensts that are being posted.
To show that we are hard at work, Matt 'Geledonutt' Wells has provided this render of the POMZ2 Ukrainian Anti-Personnel Mine.

He has also posted some amazing renders of the SU-27 Flanker in his 'interactive section'. You need to be registered on our forums to see this section.

We strongly encourage inspired mappers to create fan maps for POE. Sgt.Wedge has put together an extremely infomative post about mapping for POE and has provided all of the files you need to do so. POE has introduced some exciting new features, you will need this information to create custom maps with all of them working properly.
We thought it would be interesting to show who exactly is playing POE. Here is some information about who is installing our mod:

This information is gathered through the GEIP program which players can agree to when installing our modification.

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
Instead of adding a jet they need to subtract them!

Why not add an F-4 Phantom II to counter the Flanker? Germany still uses those old machines!

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
Is the AP mine going to replace the claymore or will it be integrated into an existing kit?

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
This mod already has way too much air power. I'm not happy to see a new jet.

The time for calm and rational discussion has passed. Now is the time for senseless bickering.

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
Anti per mine would be nice for medics and support as an addition to the kit, but the support would have an endless supply.
I am interested to see what they do.
Spec ops has grenades with C4, won't go there
Assault has smoke and five rounds, with spotting function, won't go there
Engineer has grenades and smoke grenades, so no go here
Sniper has there two claymores, so possiblity they will just trade for the new mine
Medic, three amo clips and two smokes, may go to them
support, gun and support bags, may go to them.
In conclusion, the Medic will get the mines.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Need more AA than more air assets.

No kidding, the current AA is totally inadequate. Pilots have nothing to fear - it's just target practice for them.

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
AP mine looks good.
The SU-27 on the other hand I'm not so happy about. I don't think BF2 can do justice to modern air superiorty fighters like the F-22 and SU-33/30/27, I think they should just have the lightest of attack aircraft, like the Alpha-jet, AMX or SU-25 and attack helicopters. If this new jet is half as powerful as it is in real life, or if it's comparable to the other jets in the game it will kill everything in sight.
Allow me to wait for a more infantry friendly mod to be released. Like EOD.

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
Not all jets are bad guys. The Flanker is a fighter. The one thing this mod needs is better fighters so we can counter the bombers. Currently the Mig is getting out manuevered by the Ger bomber(Tornado) and the Euro fighter...well I've flown that once but wasn't too impressed.

Re: Anti-Personnel Mine, new jet coming
the tornado (fighter/bomber) can outmanuver pretty much anything. That jet has a SICK turning radius and with afterburners, its hardly an effort to get a jet off your tail -
1. hear lock tone
2. do some crazy loops and turns with burners with or without flares
3. in about 3 seconds of that, he'll be gone.
