    MIC check

Just wanted to ask that some of you consider the quality of the microphone that you use the VoIP feature with in game. It's so terrible with some that I have just completely stopped asking "what?" and basically ignoring whatever it is you said. If I'm not responding to whatever it is your saying, and I've already told you once that I can't hear you, thats why.

The worst offenders are people that just seem to have an extremely low MIC volume. Those people need to explore the 'boost' feature in the BF2 VOIP setup. I say this out of love. I really want to know what it is your mumbling.

PROTIP: Don't use the 14 year old clip on mic that came with your creative soundblaster 16. I also don't suggest screaming at the microphone built in to your monitor, as I believe that was a technical design FAD of the late 90's.

IN SUMMATION: PLEASE SPEND THE $15 ON A BOOM MIC THAT ELIMINATES BACKGROUND NOISES AND ALLOWS ME TO HEAR YOU PROPERLY. I'm looking at you SANTA and BODOFOOKO, and all of your garbled, distorted bretheren.

Also, check for overmodulation. If your boost is too high, it is impossible to understand you. The mic check when you first enter a squad is an ideal time to fine tune your levels, since you're still not spawned into the match.

Is it really that bad? I think the only times i have too much background noise is when i dont put my headphones on.

I am just joshin ya brother. Actually, your MIC volume is fine and generally I can hear you ok.

When I can't it's because when you opened up the VOIP channel, the other sounds in the room you are in drown out your voice.

It's not all bad, I get to hear the PoE load music over TS when you talk. Turned background music off a long time ago so I live vicariously through you.

there there boot, we've had this discussion before - there's nothing to be afraid of...

Boot: I don't know Whiskey. I don't feel good. I feel nervous. I really feel nervous
Whiskey: Oh come on relax. You been to the cash machine?
    Boot: Yeah
    Whiskey: Car clean?
    Boot: Uh huh
    Whiskey: Plenty of gas?
    Boot: Uh huh
Whiskey: Um breath how's your breath?
Boot: It's fine I had some altoids.
Whiskey: Alright I think you're all set. So just go clean the pipes and lets go.
    Boot: Huh?
Whiskey: You know clean the pipes.
Boot: What do you mean clean the pipes?
Whiskey: You do ----- the ------- before any [BF2], don't you? Tell me you ----- the ------ before [BF2]! Oh my God! He doesn't ---- the ------- before [BF2]! Are you crazy?! That's like going out there [without] a loaded gun! Of course that's why you're nervous.

LOL. I am pretty sure the short dashes is the word "check" and the long dashes is the word "mic".

I believe the low quality of Santa's transmissions are directly related to a certain fast food chain's theme song.

    I'm lovin it!!

Santa's mic is fine. I can always hear him say "I've just knifed so and so"

But Bodo on the other is a wee bit low. I can barely hear you bro.

    Re: MIC check

Lately, Dark Viper's microphone has been sounding like a CB radio in game. Which is weird because it sounds just fine on TS. Get a sound card, Viper!
