Yeah, that tank flanking from south really caught them off guard, and the hostile tank on the south end of the bridge was promptly eliminate. that chopper support was a breath of air as, at times we can't even go near the flag when the arti rains. Nice SL work and the squad was just awesome.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
i might be inclined to agree. it's really hard to find good games, even during the standard 'primetime' (somewhere around 7-11PM EST).

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
This is similar to when BF2 first came out. It will take some time to educate the new players to our style of play and get them up to par. What is different however is that many TGers are squadding up together and not taking the opportunity to help train these new folks. This is the only way it will get better.
The password nights work to offer more advanced teamwork to those who visit the forums. These players can then take what they learn and apply it to standard nights.
In the end, we should start seeing better quality play on every night... but it will take time and it will take veterans spending time with new players.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
Yeah the guys who started playing here 2 weeks ago may get into the TG swing within another 2 weeks.. But in the meantime and whith all the new guys just joining today the server stays noobified. Seems like there's an endless influx of pubs -- and the reason we get five 3-man pubbie squads and two squads filled with TG guys is because nobody is interested in being a trainer. They just wanna get on the server and have fun with known team-players.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
I must respectfully disagree...just about everytime I'm playing POE2 over the last 3 weeks or so I've made a point to join or lead squads with 2 or 3 TGers max. I've had a blast working with the new guys. Everynight I sign off by saiyng.... "those new to TG we are glad you are here. Come back again and check out our forums--and get yourself a mic !!"
We have to keep at it as it will be worth it in the long run. LIke Bom says if you aren't part of the solution than you are part of the problem...lead those newbies !!|TG-1st|Grunt

Agree 100% I've had some of my best nights on POE with NO TGers...*GASP* on my squad. I'm actually getting a lot of return pubies and I've seen 1 so far become a supporting member. Theres a lot of great guys(gals) coming in now. Maybe we should promote "pubies" to "newbies"?

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
While I have no problem squading up with anyone, if u see a TG tag or another regular you know they have a mic and will work as a team(most cases). If you don't it can be hit or miss with people even willing to use the VOIP. I don't know whether they don't have mics or are scared, but to miss out on the most important aspect of the game: communication then it sucks to be squadded with those people. I find people only join my squad sometimes to avoid being kicked. They have no intention of following orders or helping the squad. I try to kick them as soon as I can, but it wastes time and effort.
I've had some good non tagged players in my squads as of late though, so not all pub players are bad, it's just easier to get what you want if you recognize the tags.
I love the password nights because, atleast they have a clue of what proper behavior is. If you add password nights, you can count me and my [101] boyz in. We've had a blast playing on those nights since we stumbled in here a week ago.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
I run with a similar idea to Grunt's although I may run with anywhere from 3-5 TG'ers. I have already begun to experience seeing the same newer guys in my squad every night who are getting to be more and more like regular TG guys. It's the whole Osmosis process and it's exciting to see the newer players becoming TG veterans.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
Maybe I'm not playing enough...... But every time I've ended up on a non-TG squad, there's maybe one other guy with a mic (and he's cursing excessively or something), and when I've tried SLing, only 1 or 2 guys follow orders. Too frustrating.
I'm definitely not saying all the newcomers are bad. I have been on squads with 3 or 4 TG guys where the remaining 2 or 3 non TG guys have been fantastic. I'm guessing it's because they're good quality teamplayers who are seeking out a good squad to join and pick the TG squad (like what Khan said above) -- whereas the pubbies are just starting a new squad to not get auto-kicked..
Why have passworded nights at all then?

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
From what I've seen the mostly TG sqauds are definately more communicative and hella fun. It's a crap shoot w/ non-TG squads.
I'm feeling more and more comfortable SL'ing so I'll probably try and just SL when I'm on....been doing some reading also (stickies).
I usually name my squad something (like "farm") relevant to the objective...but peeps still don't join my squad. Perhaps w/ a little more time comes a little more name recognition and comfort level.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
Hey CZ try naming your squad "new SL" That way when guys are looking for a squad to join they know you are a new and learning SL. You will be surprised who will join your squad to help you develope as a SL. If you have good SM then your objectives will a piece of cake and you will learn a few things. Also don't be afraid to ask for suggestions from your SM. Good luck and glad to see you are stepping up to SL + rep for you
