Re: PoE2 Concerns
You know I used to play badminton. Now when I'd play a friend, sometimes I would know that I will beat him 15-0 if I go all out. Off course I don't do this and instead try some funny things, make the rallies a bit longer, go for difficult shots etc.
The whole thing is just a difference in how you enjoy competition. Some people will go for the 15-0 all the time, or some people might not think as I do that playing battlefield is supposed to be like playing with friends.

Re: PoE2 Concerns
I was with Evo when we were unfairly arty snipped by the big arty gun,It's conversations like the one we are having here that make me worry about TG game play. These forums seem to be a haven for "I had a bad round, I kept spawning and getting killed, it wasn't fair, etc" whines.
it spoilt my round !
and I want to bitch and moan about it
moan
moan
moan
blah
blah
blah
moan
bitch
moan
ah I feel better now
PS
this is an unusual quick of the game with arty being used on a slope at close range, but hey ho, it happens
like Evo says we just spawned somewhere else, no big deal

Re: PoE2 Concerns
Eh, your trying to turn my post around to make me sound like I'm not about fair play. You either read it wrong or just felt like spinning things to try and make your point.
The point of the game, last I checked, is to reduce the other team's tickets to 0 before they do the same to you. Attempting to achieve this goal with mature, likeminded individuals who all agree to follow a few simple rules to make things a little more fair, is why I play at TG.
The topic we are discussing does not violate any of these simple rules. It is a fair maneuver, just like any other, that is counterable and can be overcome with strategy.
-Attacking a UCB to exploit a player's initial unawareness, giving him no time to react before you kill him, is unfair (especially if I can't spawn anywhere else!). There is a rule against this.
-Repeatedly jumping to avoid enemy fire is an exploit of the game engine, unfair and silly. There is a rule against this.
Maybe you think its stupid to have a battflefield 2 tactics sub forum? Do you also think all that planning we do before a scrim is a waste of time? After all, we spend that time on planning how to beat the other team as efficiently and tactifully as possible. To use your analogy,15-0, if we played well enough.
I have fun playing the game this way. Sure, I'll get pinned down at a CP and get pounded by arty 3 or 4 times in a row. I think about the situation and react to stop that from happening again. It doesn't bother me, because when I finally execute a plan that stops that from happening, well, that was fun. I just overcame a challenge.
It's certainly a different outlook than the one you carry. You play at TG for different reasons than I do. Which is fine, I don't have a problem with that. Can you accept the fact that I play more competitively than you?
Furthermore, when a particular tactic is complained about, can you accept the fact that someone might defend it? Is it ok if I try to point out that it's a fair and counterable strategy? Sure, it's only my opinion. This is a forum, right?Last edited by BHack; 09-08-2006 at 04:51 PM.
