If I'm lucky enough to ...
hit a helo or a jet with a round from a tank, IT SHOULD BLOW UP immediately, not just start smoking.
Comments?

Re: If I'm lucky enough to ...
I think the question is "shouldn't a helo or jet blow up no matter which sort of tank shell you're shooting at it?"

I think the question is "why are you shooting at a helicopter with a tank when there are AA pickup kits and AA vehicles and AA emplacements and .50 cal turrets that are much better suited to do the job? Help your team by taking out the enemy armor, not taking potshots and any choppers that fly past."

I've yet to hit a Eurotiger with a Heap shell and not have it blow up immediately. The Hind might be tougher (?) but adding some guns in will certainly get the job done or he will at the least have to run away.

Well, the reason for posing the question is this: When I'm playing a map with a bunch of jets and helo's, getting into a tank makes you nothing more than a target, and a rather defenseless one at that.
I love this game more than I should, but that is one feature of both vanilla and POE2 that gets my panties in a knot.

Re: If I'm lucky enough to ...
Oh, and another thing: Splash damage on tank rounds = ZERO. I can land a round from a tank 2 feet from a ground trooper and he's still healthy enough run a NY marathon. Turret not going low enough to shoot him in the noggin? To bad, cuz he's placing C4 on your backside and there's nothing you can do except exit.... but then he'd have the tank.
/rant off. Now, back to my regularly scheduled programming.

Interesting! You can select from different shells in the tank?
If that's true, then my love for the tank just returned! I must have missed something.......

Check out the PoE manual on the poe manual on the point of existance home page. (would post the link, but not made 15 posts yet???!! )
And on tanks taking helo's down being unrealistic.
I remember this being discussed in the dc forums a good while back, and a vid was posted of a tank indeed taking a helo down. It is possible
A good one also with the heap is against the transport helis, if they are actually carrying troops, is a shot in the passenger compartment, bye bye, passengers and the pilot also takes health damage from the blast.
Been on the wrong end of that and the right end
