Talking Hello! Comments, timed out, questions

Hello! Just got in your server tonight for a few games.

    1. GREAT time with good squad. Had a TG member as SL (forget name), and he wanted his infantry squad to "sneak" through the woods to capture points, and then defend. I LOVE playing like this, thanks for the game.

    2. I had trouble joining the server a couple times, because I "timed out" before joining a squad. When I click "join server", my computer takes approximately 1 minute 30 seconds to load the map and "verify client data" before I can actually be in game and join a squad. Does this count against me with the 90 second join squad rule?? Because I usually take a short time to look over the squads and figure out which to join (I am a ground pounder, so I stay away from aircraft squads).

    3. Got slightly bummed out because I was auto-switched near the end of one game (and I was in the good squad!). I guess this can happen even if a person is in a squad?

    4. Considering that essentially every time I've checked out your server it is either full or has only a couple slots open, have you folks considered having a second POE2 server?

Looking forward to playing with you all more often!

    Hey Madff,

You will find most of your answers here... http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...ncements-sops/

Yes, there is a second server with the IP available in the announcements. It just needs some people in there to "seed" it. Once a couple people join, it will start to fill.

The amount of time to join a squad starts after you spawn. So your long load time does not impact time to join a squad. More likely, your computer runs through the log in screen when the server is actually full. It's full at 62 people even though it shows that it's NOT full. We leave 2 spots open for our reserve player system allowed for those who are supporting members.

Glad you had fun and definitely make another run on our server!

    Lucky Shot

Excellent. Welcome then, to the last server you'll ever play on.

As LS indicated, the timer begins upon spawning. It is checked every 15 seconds thereafter.

    3. Got slightly bummed out because I was auto-switched near the end of one game (and I was in the good squad!). I guess this can happen even if a person is in a squad?
As we require EVERYONE to be on squads (else be booted off the server entirely), yes, this happens to squad members. It checks on your death though, so if you really like your squad, don't die.

    4. Considering that essentially every time I've checked out your server it is either full or has only a couple slots open, have you folks considered having a second POE2 server?
It's been considered, yes, but for whatever reason, second servers never fill up, regardless of the game or the apparent popularity of the first server. The thought is always kicking around, and you never know with us admins (especially that shiifty JMJ)...

Welcome to TG!!! That was me SLing that squad and I'm glad you like that sort of combat. I've never been real fond of sticking my face in the buzz saw and I see no reason to tell my squad members to do so. Anytime you're on look for a squad called TGIRR. I'll be running that one as it is a requirement as an Irregular.

You are welcome in my squad anytime and thanks again for following orders and keeping my narrow butt alive.

For whatever it's worth, my experience has been that you have a much better chance of populating two servers if they are named rather than numbered. If you have servers named "TG POE #1" and "TG POE #2", people will move towards #1 as it's seen as the primary.

However, if you have "TG POE - Angry Beaver" and "TG POE - Rockin' Possum" the servers are peers and will see a more even distribution.

And yes, only those two very specific names will work, anything else is doomed to fail :-)
