Re: Hello
Bommando is the Queen

Jaws - we might get some interest, but I'm not sure how much. I'm open to people having a go of course, but the last time we met an out an out tournament team in a small game (8v8) we did encounter some unsavoury tactics. It wasn't really the bunnyhopping that amazed us as much as the blatent suicide tactics. A jeep full of c4 is a tough target to stop in an urban map, and it was seen by the other side as a "good trade" for a tank.
I don't know how much of this you guys encounter, but it is so called 'tactics' like this which this community tends to shy away from.
Out of interest do you have a 32 v 32 league? We like big games here - almost all of our scrims have been this size, and smaller ones only due to what the opposition can field. Heck we even have 32 v 32 against ourselves we like it that much.

Re: Hello
To be perfectly honest, C4 jeeping in BF2 was very prevalent in league play...in CAL, in TWL, and in the World Tournament.
BUT in POE2, we haven't really seen too much of it...even in pubs it's not a popular tactic. In the real world, suicide bombers are as real as it gets so I guess the accpetance of such tactics can't really be dismissed as being an exploit. From my reading and conversations with DICE, they designed the C4 to be sticky in this BF version for a reason whereas in the old BF1942 engine, C4 was not sticky which is why you didn't see such tactics in mods like DC.
Right now we do not have any type of 32v32 action for any BF game and I don't believe there are any plans for one either.
Our POE2 league is 10v10 with a max roster size of 18 players.
But hey, it's your decision. I'm not here to twist your arm lol. I can't promise you anything either. You might have a great time...or you might have a miserable time. The only thing I can offer is help in getting setup and offering up a regular scrim partner should you decide to play.
I think what impressed us enough to invite you on over was that you guys have a good grasp on squad based play and that's half the battle right there. So if you guys did play, I'd expect you to do well against many teams but I'd also expect you to take quite a beating here and there as there are some really good teams in our league. What it all really boils down to is dedication and teamwork. With those two things you can pretty much overcome any type of obstacle thrown at you and make up for any type of deficit.
Ok, have fun guys and let me know if you want to give it a go.

Re: Hello
"In the real world...", is the absolute worst excuse for describing something in BF2. I mean there's a laundry list times 1 million things that are or are not in the real world that this game does or does not emulate. Example, u respawn so fire fights are much more bold. IN most real life scenarios when a .50 cal machine gun opens up ppl duck, not stand up and take aim. The list goes on forever. Also suicide bombers don't usual target heavy armor. Most of their vehicles are susceptible to heavy MG fire from the top gunner so they would be disabled well before they got close enough to try to do any damage. Also the amount of explosive need to take out a main battle tank without the use of a shaped charge/penetrator would be quite alot.
That being said, that is why I prefer the infantry only ladders/tournaments. Atleast it cuts down on some of the unsavory tactics.

Re: Hello
I agree with you but it is possible IRL with varying degrees of results. But all this doesn't matter because I think that most of the cheap tactics are contained to BF2. We really don't see mass use of these cheap tactics in POE2 and that's what we're playing and would like for you to take part in it if you so desire.
I have attempted to play BF2 infy only and it's nothing more than a nade fest where everyone goes support and medic. I've seen it so bad with the nade spam that it made me laugh before I disconnected. To me, that takes away from the essence of the game.
thank God for POE2.
I must tell you though that many of these unsavory tactics are the result of DICE's decision to employ a cone of fire in the hand held weapons. Because of the bullet deviation, people feel that they need to resort to other methods in order to get that one shot kill. this is why we have seen the n00b tube whores and C4 chuckers. Now it's nade spam.
But the POE devs were smart enough to tweak the cone of fire which places the emphasis back into the "shooting" game and for many of us....this is what BF2 should have been.
the essence of a FPS is the reward given to the player who has the most precise aim and POE2 captures that amazingly well. That's why we're playing it and why we think you'd enjoy playing with us.
Have a great day...
