Re: The slow painful death of POE
Yes those city maps cant get here soon enough. I have stopped playing POE and stay with 2142, this is until I can play infantry or armor without getting bombed or rapped by choppers all the time. POE is furstrating for infantry compared to 2142. And better graphics in 2142 makes it hard to switch to POE, and then you have the unlocks in 2142 which adds a new dimension.
But I agree its still a mod to BF2, we need a new game that most of us will like. And hopefully not from EA.

Re: The slow painful death of POE
Ok, my 3.5 cents...
I admin mostly 2142, I like the game, and play has definitely improved with the learn TG squads. I still like POE, but I have noticed that my "skills" at POE have declined since I have played 2142 almost exclusivley. It just seems 2142 is running at a faster pace than POE, and I found it difficult to revert back (see scrim results waaaa!!!! ) I enjoy/ed POE, but I only have so much time to play and I have made it a mission to raise the standard of play on 2142 to bring it in line with POE and good old vanilla. Like Penguin said, growing pains...and new content spread us thin, but even with that we had a heck of a turn out for the POE scrim didn't we?
On a side not I have noticed some simularities between POE and BF2142s forums...has it occured to any of the "old timers" the amount of new names since August that have appeared as regulars on the forums and in games? I havn't been on the POE forums in awhile but, wow...! 2142 also has a new bushell of TGers, who are turning out to be the diamonds we all new were out there. In closing, we have gone through some changes. Had our joys and some gripes...but like they once told me; we're still here and people are still looking for what we have to offer. Hang in there troops, this is still the best place to play out there!

Re: The slow painful death of POE
I think POE2 will die if they don't get less arcady. People looking for the quick arcade fun move on to new games, they don't stay playing mods.
They are beat pants down by PR for now. Don't tell me I'm wrong here; de gustibus non est disputandum

Re: The slow painful death of POE
No, thanks. POE2 is fine just the way it is. There are games that do realism way better than BF2. No need to try to fit a square peg in a round hole. Anyway, real combat is not fun so I dont see the need to mimic it.
As for people moving on to new games, there are still servers for BF1942, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, etc. EA puts out the same sports games year after year. Classics are classics and will always have players.-33rd- BaneII

Re: The slow painful death of POE
POE is more enjoyable for me now than it was when it first came out, and the server is still highly active. I hate when people get all self-conscious about the games we host here - just play it, and don't worry about whether it's having a 'slow painful death' or anything.

Re: The slow painful death of POE
I'll be coming back to POE after the holidays. Been on 2142, but not too thrilled with it at this point. Mostly pub servers, but finding anyone who even squads up is difficult. Very limit team play so far. TG POE server has been mostly empty when I have time........but still my favorite place for teamwork.
