    Re: 2 new maps

So No Man's Land and Hell Awaits are the same except for color? That's odd.

They look fun. I'd loved to see one of them added to the rotation. I doubt many servers would run both.

I'm just D/Loading both versions now... cant wait to have a look at them as feedback on the POE2 forums so far has been excellent..

    Have a sneak peek here.....

    Looks pretty cool eh?

By different colours he means different lighting...one a sort of morning/foggy setting and the other a sort of orange/black night version... see here...

I hope some of you guys try this out aswell, and maybe even put it on rotation

Havent looked at the maps yet, but i dont see any server having a large population in a small mod with a custom map. If theyre good enough though, i think POE is accepting community maps.

Wow. Those look really cool actually. And even better, they look like more infantry maps, with actual cover!

The mapper is entering the maps in poe's mapping contest.poe will put the winning map in a future update.

Well as I said they are getting a lot of good feedback... from the DEV's too, so you never know, they may appear in a official D/L... As for infy... gonna try them soon, but I was lead to believe that there are hardly any vehicles... Arty on 64pl but that about it from what I've read.
I'm going to install them right after I finish reading through the newer entries in the Interactive development thread... Got to keep up to date on the juicy's .

    Re: 2 new maps

Well I've installed them, but of course there was no servers running them yet... so I started up a local server and had a look round. And you know what, I was quite impressed... I can see some really intense infy battles going on on these maps with enough players in. Plenty of ditches and logs in the open areas for cover and a few blown out buildings here and there, the trenches could make for some interesting moments aswell, using smoke arty on advance will be a must to make any real push if the flanks are covered.
Also, AP and light sniper pick up kits for both sides, and as the Germans are the advancing team I think only they get arty on the 64 player version, which I should add is dug into a trench so ppl trying to use it as a tank are out of luck .
I preferred the darker Hell Awaits version of the map, it wasn't as dark as I first thought it would be and you still get a good view distance but it has more of an atmosphere about it IMO.

Try it out guys... if enough people try it and like it, which I do, we may see more of it

From the screenshots that I've seen, I like the atmosphere of the darker "Hell Awaits" version. Namely because it lends itself that sense of a wartorn battlefield, with the clouds of smoke in the air darkening the sky, and the scorched earth. I like!

    Hell Awaits...

    http://www.pointofexistence.com/foru...howtopic=12151

Just unzip and copy/drag the no_mans_land and hell_awaits folder and their contents to your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\poe2\Levels directory.
No harm will come to POE or anything else
