    I've read Luckyshot's thread about no CO in PoE, and played PoE today for a few hours, and thought about the following:

    Without CO abilities found in BF2, PoE is no different then other tactical shooters say Ghost recon, or rainbow six.

    Looking at BF2 server schedule, BF2 vanilla is not on it, Tacmod is, but was empty on Sunday, well at least this Sunday.

    What are the chances we will have a separate BF2 server?
    I'm sure this was discussed up sometime ago, point me to the thread if you could, or just tell me if BF2 server is in the works, or things will stay as is.

    PS. I do know that there is a rotation every other Friday (I think), and we have SF/BF2/PRM.

    I would like to get a weekly vanilla night going now that we have had a good soaking in mods. We can probably do it, but I'm not sure what night.

    Toc would show up for a BF2 night. Floyd is and outstanding pilot and I love to gun for him in the choppers. We will frequently break into 2 squads. 1 air and 1 ground.

    any ideas on BF2 server?

    I'm just wondering why we have PoE, when its game play is similar to that of ghost recon and rainbow six, or even TG's own Tacmod ?

    Hey guys, TG-4th is playing Vanilla everyday!! We all get together in Teamspeak and on xfire. Even though we do not have a Vanilla server of our own to play on a daily basis we do not let it keep us from playing. We have found one or two servers that play similar to TG's liking and we all squad up on the same server. It has been lots of fun and we have made our presents felt and turned some heads. I just recently played with a guy on a random server who was in my squad and he liked some of the things I presented to him and that day check out our site and now Nick12121 is a supporting member. If you guys are looking to play some more BF2 like your saying then add me to xfire and simply follow in the server you see us in or jump on TS. You can find any of 4th members xfire names within our public profile (rookie3).

    If people turn up on a Friday, and they generally want vanilla, then I'm happy to do accommodate them by doing fewer SF and PRM sessions. We have a dedicated PRM server anyway, so we all have plenty of opportunity to play the best version of BF2 there is.

    That said, it would be great if we could have a dedicated vanilla server.

    Tempus has made it pretty clear in other threads that there will NOT be a dedicated BF2 server here at TG. You might be able to get a weekly night for Vanilla but I seriously doubt you will be able to get a deicated server on a constant basis.

    I don't miss regular BF2. I do however miss CTF. I used to play DCON's CTF mini mod a lot on the Texas Combat Crew server. It was a blast. I'd say it's deserving of a scheduled night once in awhile. It runs smooth and bug free and is a must try for any CTF fan.

    Might I just say, and I hope that I am not out of place for doing so, that vanilla BF2, for all its problems with balance issues, bugs, and everything else that EA/Dice have managed to bungle, is not worth playing when there are mods like PoE2 (et al) that address most if not all of those problems. IMHO.

    So far as I am concerned, PoE2 is what vBF2 should have been but failed to deliver.

    I miss CTF.. I havent seen anyone playing CTF for weeks, even the wednesday night drunk fest has been empty :/

    I thought I read somewhere that they were developing a
    new BF2 version of DC. I like POE, but DC was the best.
    I spent endless hours on the original. Nothing better
    than screaming across the desert in a buggy with an
    angry pack chasing you or getting your flag back just inches
    from the enemy cap.

    Oh man, I have been waiting for over a year for the new and improved DC which is DCon(Desert Conflict).. The Big Bird, MLRS and a SCUD, already done.. They are very close to release.. maybe

    Oh, man... I used to compete against TCC (with =B33F= Tags) in the CTF ladders back in the day. I miss all those guys... We petitioned together to try to get CTF in BF2 when it was being released... the good ol' days.

    I don't remember your name corporate, but I'm sure we shared some bullets.
