Great if this was a sim, probably not realistic for BF2 game. Is it possible to dramatically slow the fill rate of the jets as they fly over the airfield?

We did that in Tactical Mod. That and a few other changes seemed to balance the jets out fairly well.

As it is, I land when ever I'm damaged into the red anyway. It’s far more efficient than making several flybys… on runways with only one re/re bubble that is. Some maps have runways with two and a slow pass or a touch’n’go is all that is required. Still, lowering the fill rate would be one way of requiring pilots land their jets if they want to expedite repairs and supplies.

Besides, landing isn't hard by any means, if that is indeed your concern, as demonstrated by this video. I find that landing jets in PoE2 is even easier than their vanilla counterparts.

Either way, the objective is to give groundpounders a bit more of a breather between air strikes. On that note, I feel that precision strikes are preferable to the carpet bombers seen in vBF2 and the PoE2’s Frogfoot.

I once experimented with such a mod in vanilla BF2, but my feeling was that pilots who were good enough to brutally punish opposing teams would only be slightly slowed, while pilots who were new would find it nearly impossible to reload. I tried many different settings and eventually scrapped the idea.
    Peace through fear... since 1947!
