Pictorial preview of the custom maps coming in the map pack
For those who do not read the POE forums here is a taste of what we hopefully will be playing this evening. Note that all screenshots are from builds submitted for the mapping contest or slightly before...these maps may have had some tweaking done since the contest ended.
Red Dawn by michi.be

Description: German KSK forces tried to eliminate a high decorated military member in his home near Kremenez. Unfortunately the target was evacuated shortly before the bomb exploded. Now it's up to the German Forces to land at a nearby forrest and get control of the whole area. Furthermore it's vital to capture and hold a small military helicopter station. Without this air support it will be hard to accomplish the mission because Ukrainian reinforcement is advancing from the south-west. Parachute in and get control! Dismissed!Style: City based map built mostly for infantry with a few armor pieces mixed in.Operation Acorn by feenicks

Description: The Population of the sleepy fishing village of Zavrod, near the Slovakian border, has been forcibly 'relocated' by the Ukrainian military. German intelligence has discovered that the Ukrainians are establishing a top secret military supply cache in an old quarry near the village. In a quick dawn raid, German rapid deployment troops have rushed down out of the mountains and shall attempt to secure this depot, thus blunting a possible Ukrainian military offensive near the Slovakian border. The nearby Ukrainian garrison must quickly try to defend their hidden supplies, lest they fall into German hands.Style: Mixed environment map built mostly for infantry with light transport vehicles.Berezne by =VSF=Dali

Description: This quiet village and surrounding forest along the Sluch River is about to erupt into a blood stained battlefieldStyle: Mixed environment map built mostly for infantry with light transport , one tank and one apc per side.Woodland by Running

Description: German troops are advancing forward, but Ukrainian forces are holding up supply lines. Germany needs to destroy the Ukrainian forces and capture a radar tower that helps the enemy in communication.Style: Woodland environment built entirely for infantry with a focus on battles occuring over inclines and downslopes. There are a few light transport vehicles included.Stormfront by Racer-9088 (and help from Catbox and others)

Red Dawn and Woodland look very nice! I can hardly wait for them any longer.
Luckily so is my fiance away over night, so I will be able to get a hold of this map-pack and play during the night (Eurotime).443.Urban Infantry Bat. / Bat. Anti-tank Platoon

One thing that makes Red Dawn so pimp is that the city buildings have low balcony areas that you can hop into or under... which makes for a TON of hiding spots.

Well, I guess that the PoE-team can not complain on peoples expectations. As I said before, a nice injection for the mod.
