Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
Recently (prolly in the last two weeks or so), I've run into fluctuating ping times on the POE server than get as high as 350 at some points, with an average somewhere in the mid-200s.
Needless to say, this is absolutely ruining the game for me, since it results in a lot of lag. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem, and if anyone has figured a) what's causing it and b) how to fix it.

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
My ping is usually below 50 but the last few games I played were extremely glitchy even with as low as 8 people.

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
My ping stays between 75-80. I don't have any problems, but I do know that other servers in TX and further away from me I usually get 40-60.

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
There have been some moments over the last few weeks where everyone's ping hits about 200-350 for a few minutes. However this issue seems to have gone away and was not regular enough to pinpoint a server issue (I'm speculating here).
Over the past few days I have not experienced this and it is possible that the issue resolved itself or was fixed by one of our resourceful admins. Either way my ping is back to its consistent 40-50.
If you are having constant high ping, then this is probably not the same issue and it is most likely on your end.

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
I too have noticed this random ping increase, up to 300 at times, then it falls back to the 80-90. I believe that Mantis fixed it by turning something off on the server.
What I dont get, My ping to my old server in Dallas was 30-40.. The TG servers are in San Antonio, my ping is higher to the TG than Cuervos, Yet I am closer.. I blame Comcast. The other week when we went pubbing to a server in Dallas, my ping was better than everyone elses . I know it has to do with how many hubs my connection goes through, I still dont get it :/.

Do you have these pinging problems on other servers? That would at least narrow at down to if its something wrong with the server or wrong on your end.

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
I seldom play any other servers than TG, actually I waste of time. But I have noticed that my ping seldom goes below 100 ever since the last release (new maps)....then again, perhaps my computer is trying to tell my something...a 2.5 year old computer is like owning a 20+ yr old car...
See you out there guys!

Re: Unusually High Ping on POE2 Server
The problem for POE2 persists, and checking with other versions of BF2 that I have, it seems it's a consistent problem.
Apparently, the data flow between my system and the TG server is being obstructed somewhere along the way by my college's network.
This does not surprise me in the least, since the monkeys running the IT department are Computer major drop outs. They will be contacted forthwith, then flogged publicly.
