    Traveling Back in Time

I finally got a chance to play Point of Existence 2 and have to say that this mod is fantastic. The vast majority of my experience with the Battlefield series has been in the future with BF2142, so I was unsure what to expect from the older version. However, before its release, I did play the Blackhawk Down series and do thoroughly enjoy the modern warfare genre. PoE2 has a little of everything from each game and the few rounds I got to play were a genuine blast.

Now, if I can just remember to remind myself that real tanks do not have shields, I might actually survive a few more encounters playing PoE2.

Thanks for giving our mod a try! While we do not have shields, the tanks have counter measures. So if somebody gets a lock on you, use those counter measures like you would in a plane to foil that Hind or Tiger!

Excepting, of course, for the Frogfoot. You're only hope is prayer once it has started its strafing run on you, especially if it is being supported by a half-way competent Mig pilot. =\

POE is a great mod. I urge you to check out Project Reality Mini Mod (PRM)too. Both mods have an active player base and lately I've been seeing lots of crossover between the two. These days I play mostly PRM but I do join the POE server every once in a while.

PRM is a slower game with seemingly greater lethality. Small unit tactics rule the day and the squad who plans and is cautious wins the day. It's a lot like our own TACMOD, if you've ever played that.

Had a chance to hop in your squad for a couple moments on Orel last night. Glad you enjoyed POE, I can't get enough of it!

I appreciate the suggestion and have tried Project Reality. While that is another great mod, I found PoE2 to be much closer to the style of play I enjoy in first-person shooters. That being a good blend of realism and squad-level tactics mixed with video game action.

We're glad your enjoying our current version of PoE.
The next version will be even better, with a big thanks going out to the TG guys who are putting in a great effort in testing our current testing versions.

Be sure to try poe later in the week, population has been low the last few nights. Sunday night was project reality password, last night people were trying out the cqb mod and tuesday nights many are testing.

Funny you mentioned that. During one of the rounds last night, my squad was trying to assault a Control Point and had to continually spawn a great deal away from our objective, since we were getting wiped off the map. I finally told LuckyStrike to, "Put down a damn beacon!"

While I really enjoy the change of pace and style of play in PoE2, it is the opportunity to play with a different group of TG members that has drawn me back to the server. The 9th MID is still young and we can learn a lot from playing with other in-house squads. The challenge is taking what we learn and bringing those lessons back to the future in BF2142.
