What's new in POE?
It's been a while since I hopped onto the POE server. 2142 is getting overwhelming, so I feel like I should re-visit some of the older games to refresh my palette. I hear there's a new patch coming out for POE. On the website, they have renders for U.S. weapons and vehicles, so does that mean they'll introduce a 3rd faction? I love the German and Ukraine weapons/vehicles (they're much different than the stock BF2 weapons), but I wonder how the POE team would recreate the US army.

The public build has not changed since you last played. As for future content if you go back through the POE news posts you'll see a lot of toys/maps that hopefully will someday see release.

There is a new army! The US has answered their German allies pleas and are coming to the rescue. Here is a shot the F18 from the US Marines.

A POE Billboard contest just completed with a number of great entries including some from TG. Sumluv had some phenominal entries.
Be prepared as the forces battle over Blue Nile with this as the setting...
And perhaps one of my favorite new toys, the multi-role SU27 that is being introduced to the Ukraine side.
Overall, there are several new maps in the works, an additional army, new vehicles, new weapons, and the usual tweaks to the current build to improve current maps. I can't wait!

I knew they'd introduce the US army sooner or later. I'm really loving the new maps too, especially Odessa. The thing is huge!

The cool thing is that they arent doing the US Army in this one, but instead they're doing US Marines. I think that will make for something a little different. and fun.

You were. The one exception is the UH-60's are Blackhawk instead of a seaHawk or whatever. Everything else is Marine equip and it clearly states US Marines in all the mission briefings.

It's a shame there aren't more players of this mod. It is truly beautiful. I am currently enthralled with Project Reality play but when this new update comes out I will gladly return to regular POE2 play.
