If the new release is out, it will be the new release. I have a whole new assortment of weapons I need to die with unfired.

I had a great time. The issues I saw had more to do with the equipment on the maps and at which flags than anything else.

Overall I think people would have enjoyed it more if they understood how to play it. I watched as over and over again people just charged head first at the next flag in the shortest route and most guarded. It was rare that the team actually came together and flanked enemy and used any team tactics outside of the squad level.

On Rivne in particular I was BEGGING my teams SL's to flank the Ukraine team so that we could surround them and move forward. Instead they just charged right at them and got pissy as they got cut to shreads.

Then on other maps, things just clicked and the team came together and played great! Highway to hell was a really fun fire fight and perhaps the best of the evening.

Overall I really enjoyed it. Really sorry to hear some others did not.

This was a rare event and likely one not be played again as stated in the original post. The gameplay mode has issues...that is why we rarely play it. I gave ample warning it would be rough...usually its the fun type of rough but other times it can be frustrating....I hope people went in with the right expectations. Next friday we will likely be rocking the new release with a full server most of the day for quite a while....this is the last couple weeks you'll be seeing frontline/nuke maps for a while.

I had fun myself...trying to mantain a squad presence inside a sawmill in an enemy controlled flag area on Guardian was definitely the highlight.

It was a little tough to get used to at first but after a while it got really challenging. With everyone concentrating on one flag the fighting got really intense. There was definitely no place to hide. I would definitely like to play that again.

The jeep thing was a bit annoying but I had fun anyway.

I hadnt played PoE2 until today, and boy...PR does me no good there.

It's so much like vanilla. Yes, better, but the game mechanics are the same in my eyes. Sniping is still a bunch of poo, and medics just run around willy nilly.

omg... if you're first time playing PoE2 was front-lines night, you've been duped!! It's about as un-PoE2 as it gets!

And that's no lie. Frontlines PoE is just a massive zergfest, and not one that I particularly enjoy for more than 2-3 maps. Too much can go wrong with it in very short order. People don't fill up transports or drive poorly, assets get jacked because people have no clue how to maintain them properly or try soloing flags with them.... Ugh... People should have to be licensed before they are allowed to drive/pilot assets, seriously.

Honestly, Conquest is much, much better. And whether or not PR > PoE is a matter of opinion. But for my part, PoE mops the floor with PR.

Well this is my first time I played PoE in about 5 months, but still had a good time. Good teamwork, good tactics, and good company is what it is all about. Even though I only play PRM, it was a good change of pace.

Thanks for doing this Mantis...it was fun. Lets do it again sometime

I did not play Friday as I have been having trouble setting up a new machine, but I will tell you that the key, to me, to frontline is to spread out TG members as well as regulars who understand how to play it in to different squads so that you can inform other squad members how to play. It can be hard to SL though because when you are guarding the next possible flag for the enemy to take, sitting there doing nothing, players want to jump to the action.
I enjoy the game though. Thanks in advance to all the POE guys for their hard work on the next release. I am looking forward to it.

I was in your squad that round, I think, and the ukes did get us pinned down fairly well up north. I wasn't leading a squad, but I only made it through their blockade a few times. It was a nightmare, lol.

Regardless, I had a lot of fun last night, and I didn't see too many examples of bad behavior or guys that didn't know what to do. I was in a couple of squads with some good players that I hadn't seen before, too, which was nice.

I thought the night was a success. It only took a few minutes to explain the rules to the newcommers and then we were off and running. There were plenty of good hard fought rounds. After the night was over, I huddled in the corner rocking back and forth trying to recover form the POE infusion.......
