Frontline Friday - Madness on a new night
Alright fellas...I said I would run several event nights until the next release. Well here is the second one. This time we are going to run constant frontline maps. This event will not be passworded and in fact I'm going to do a bit of advertising elsewhere to draw some people in. Simply put we are going for a true night of madness here. If you like constant action this is your night and it may not come around again.
Event Details:- Friday July 13th
- Encouraged Start Time: 8EST (I would prefer to see most of the early birds group join at 8est so there is no slow seeding process but feel free to join whenever of course)
- No password. This is a public event and will be advertised on a few forums to draw some people in.
- Server will be set to 50 players.(thus 48 with SM script) This is a lot of people but will at least keep us from reaching ridiculous player counts for these maps.
- Timer will be set to 30 mins (or close to that)
- Join our teamspeak channel!
- Map rotation will include Orel , Rivne, Berezne, Dnister River Valley, Highway to Hell, Dnipro Sunrise, Operation Acorn and yes Guardian. Guardian is a huge tank battle where about 6 tanks spawn at each flag....expect to get roughed up if you play on foot

Notes:
- FrontLine - Frontline mode is a gameplay mode where you are always fighting at the front. No backcapping here, you are always in the action. Taking the enemy flag will cause them to fall back another flag. The further you go into enemy territory, the more ticket bleed you will create. You can only spawn at the flag currently at the frontline, vehicles only spawn here as well.
- This WILL be intense, over the top and in general not very tactical. That is of course the draw of frontline mode and why we don't run it too often. Its constant action and its very fierce at times. So please go in with the right mindset!
- Please make an effort to give a quick tutorial to anyone that doesn't seem to grasp the concept of frontline mode.
- The goal of the mode is to push the other team off the map. Expect this and do not hesitate to do it. Lets not set up our tents and go camping in this mode...bring the pain and push for glory. That said remember that defense is still important. If no one takes up the job of defending the flag then a few people could easily slip in and take it.
- If balance seems really off then lets make an effort to make things more even. Again even teams could still produce capouts...look to other factors for the signs. I'll do my best to move between the teams to help in balance thru the night.

Re: Frontline Friday - Madness on a new night
You have a point about tactics however I would say it requires a lot more team work outside of the squad level. Meaning a commander directing is critical IMO.
The Rivne version is one of my favorites. Its a tight inf style battle in the wheat fields. It is loads of fun, in fact I have toyed very seriously with doing a nuke version set in the same spot and similar combat style.
Unless something happens, I will be there. Lets spread the word about this as best we can and see if we can fill the server!

I too, hope to make it...
Frontline does indeed have some balance problems. If a team is superior, the chance that the other team will survive more than 3-4 minutes is slim to none, which could promote ppl leaving server quickly....I HOWEVER like Frontline mode.
Ps. and yes I DO know that we dont want those kind of ppl on the server anyway......:P

Pro-Tip: If you're at a grey flag, you're in the wrong place.

Re: Frontline Friday - Madness on a new night
Advanced tip: Not necessarily. Anticipating your team's capturing a flag and being in a forward position to quickly tip the next flag is a great way to "punch through" the enemy's front lines. If captures like this can push the frontline flags far enough in advance of active enemy troops, they may find that they are left fighting over non-assailable flags and have to huff it back to counterattack/defend the next contested flag(s). The process starts to snowball as more and more defenders are left behind. Of course, this can backfire in a bad way. But no risk, no glory. Right?

true... but if you know that strategy, you also know to ignore my 'pro-tip'

One last bump for interest. Server already being seeded...this was advertised on the poe forums and totalbf2. Hopefully a good turnout.

Or APCs... it happened a handful of times on Acorn. Also, trying to solo a Ukraine base with a tank only to ignore engineer support and hop out at red line, thus gift wrapping the German's one and best line of defense for the opposition is worthy of a hefty golf clap. =\
