Re: Interesting Problem
I have also turned that off. A new problem I have is constantly having the connection lost. It is not happening in 2142. I am going to play vanilla and see if it happens then. To describe the problem, after playing for around 20 or so minutes, my whole internet connection will go down. I was on skype with Mox and even skype goes down. Opened my internet connection monitor and it shows the connection as being down also. I have no idea what is causing it. I'll see if it happens in vanilla tonight. Argh, back to vanilla snipe fest.

Re: Interesting Problem
I just cleared my cache and now I'm flying again.... In one round of the Keep, I did not experience ANY lag. In the next Spies64, I think I blipped once in the pine cover north of the nuke. The cache was the ticket for me...
Edit: or maybe it was what they did to the server (see the lag report thread: they changed stuff...)
Oh well... Two variables at once, but I don't care. POE is running beautifully for me now.
I don't notice faster load times (but I was usually one of the first in anyway) but I had no lag on 64p versions of Olesko and Spies. I suppose the last test will be the Island.
Nice work, guys.Last edited by khaerus; 07-23-2007 at 09:44 PM.

Re: Interesting Problem
My stats:
AMD Opteron 165 Dual Core
2 GB of Crucial Ballistix ram running high speed
EVGA 860GTS
1. I have little shots of lag, but mostly only when smoke appears. I think it has something to do with the quality of ram as well because I tried to play with Mushkin Basic and it was a nightmare.
2. Make sure you have all programs off that you can turn off...AV, firewall, etc. As stated before, this game is very CPU intensive so anything running can hurt it. I actually set up a dual boot system with one side SPECIFICALLY for gaming. It helps.
3. Another thing I had to setup was my router to correctly run BF2 and luckily I have a gaming router because I would not know how to otherwise.
4. If you have a board with Nvidia chipset, etc., you can run Ntune on it. I did and it helps in a BIG way. My 3dmark5 and 3dmark6 scores improved dramatically after running. it.
5. I also find yelling at my monitor helps.
Good luck!

Re: Interesting Problem
Well I have to revive my old thread, don't want to start another one yet.
I am still getting disconnected from the server for some reason. It is now also doing it in vanilla BF2. I can get about 3/4 of the way through a round and then just drop the connection. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Re: Interesting Problem
I'll try running with the firewall completely off and see what happens. Hopefully it is the firewall. I didn't have this problem until POE was installed though. Vanilla rounds don't last quite as long as TG ones, but I am sure before in vanilla I could play 3 rounds with no problems.
I have tried running in High Priority and normal, no change.
I don't have AA enabled.
