Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
Yeah I've also noticed that loading maps takes a little bit longer now. But mine aren't as long as Braidedheadman's. I'll get into the game with about 20 seconds left on the timer before the round starts.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
I must agree with Braided here, in between rounds it takes me twice or even three times longer than normal to rejoin.
Otherwise, I was lagging real bad on Rivne and that "castle map". It seemed like everyone was experiencing similar problems on Rivne.
Great mod though...

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
ok well since the update I have run into quite a few problems first off the map load times are three to four times longer it used to take 30 seconds but is now taking 2 mins or more on every map even the old ones ( i used to get into game with 50+ seconds on the timer now the game has already started on every load) I tried clearing the cache. I also get quite a bit of chop in the game now on all maps its not the frame rate either as it stays constant I just get a rubber banding effect on every map no matter the settings I also notice now allot of deaths from players who are not even facing me and there guns are not firing i know this is due to lag of some sort the same thing used to happen in vanilla but it never really happened to me in POE untill this update.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
The map loads are longer yes and with the MD5 checks it's not as fast as it once was.
But if you are taking 17 minutes to load a map then I think the issue runs a little deeper than just the mod don't you think?...

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
Update:
Having defragged my hardrive over night (a task I perform routinely), performance during load times has improved markedly. Crimea remains a problem, however, with the longest load time out of the bunch so far and with the most lag encountered (system and server).
One thing of interest to note though is that I never encountered the lengthy load times until I installed 1.70. I guess the 1.70 install hit a badly segmented section of my hardrive, for whatever reason, with Crimea getting the worst of it. It appears to have been cleared up for the most part and my load times now appear to be 2 minutes or less in general. Still, it’s a far cry from the 30-40 seconds that I typically had pre-1.70.
Are these MD5 checks somehow new to BF2 and PoE? I thought that all the files were hashed during verification from the beginning?

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
The MD5 was an option since our first release. TG choose not to run them until now. PoE provides them for servers that want to use them but that does not mean they have to. If it were my server, I would choose not to run them.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
At 7pm this evening, we began to run the server taking advantage of a couple suggestions that Greasy had and we are curious to hear about 2 things, Load Time and In Game Lag. Please give us feedback around those two issues.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
Improved over my previous improvements overall. Faster load times and a good deal less rubber banding.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
I still saw stuttering on several maps... Dnipro and Olesko were the most noticable. Framerates stayed relatively high, but it was more of a stutter...
I wonder if BR has anything to do with it? Seems like the server's having trouble keeping up with something...

Dnipro was definitely server lag.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
Shorter load times sounds great. Didn't get a chance to check it today, was fighting in 2142 with my squad. Hopefully tomorrow night.

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
Better game feel last night except for network/server lag, frame rates seemed better.
Operation Acorn played fine without noticeable lag.
Dnipro was horrible with constant rubberbanding, Berezan Island was laggy as well, but not to the same extent.|TG-12th| fallen

Re: Seeking your 1.7 lag report
After doing some badly needed housekeeping and adjusting my video settings most of my problems have subsided, although I haven't played Odessa yet. My load times are back to what they were when I first built the box with a fresh install of BF2, frame rates are playable even though my video card is aging out. Can't say that my game play was much good, but at least it was my own doing.
