Is the POE2 public server down?

I was playing fine last weekend (which was running the 1.7 patch), and now when I look at it in the favorites menu all the text is red and there's no player or map info. I searched the main page and a couple of recent POE2 threads but couldn't find any explanation for why I can't connect to the POE2 public server that was running fine less than a week ago.

Thing is I really don't want to play on any other server...the game just isn't as fun/intense/cooperative. Any info would be much appreciated.

Apologies in advance if this has already been covered in a previous thread.

Oops, I think I just found out. Seems it's because of the 1.8 hotfix.

Clawhammer corrected me. The POE2 public server is not down because of the 1.8 hotfix. It doesn't show up right in the server list because it crashed on Thursday and the ip/name got messed up. I don't know the specifics, but the way to fix it is to just type in the server name "tacticalgamer" in the search lobby and it'll find it.

    -Thanks B. Clawhammer

It's back up. It locked up on Rolling Thunder and it's been restarted. Already 30 people back on.

I guess this is why Game-Monitor isn't showing it up quite yet.

So the server has had more connection problems in the last couple of weeks than the year previous ...

    Anyone know why?

    Terrorists?
    Cheaper server service?
    POE 1.8 lagged the internet?
Corporations implementing their right for priority service since they own and we only rent the internet structure?

Another post clarified the connection problem message at the end of a round is related to the stats upload.

How the end of round ends (Connection Problem or not) is not what I am asking about.
I am talking about during the round.

Re: Is the POE2 public server down?

Don't know. I seem to have connection problems throughout the rounds, usually. I'l be playing decently, and then I'l be disconnected through no fault of my own connection, and then towards the end, i get a temporary connection problem near 5-10 tickets left then the game is over. Is that what you're talking about?

Check it out, I have all of my favorite players and one or two of my frag puppets listed on my Personal Leaderboard. It is really cool to see how well you are doing while at the same time it shows you where to focus your efforts for improvement.
