Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
Count me out of the ePenis ring. I have better things to do with my time, quite frankly - one being actually playing the game. Or more importantly, like figuring out why BF2 keeps crashing/looping sounds/squealing with my new X-FI Fatality edition sound card
(RAWR!!
).

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
I personally believe the real issue here is mirror balance. With plane especially, that is what it is always about. We tried for something different. Some say we did great, others say we failed. For the most part we are happy with it but always looking for ways to improve.
If we mirrored them then air combat would go back to the circle jerks of BF2 combat. We wanted something different. We wanted to break the circle jerk and throw out a huge mix of tools to use in the air with each one being different. It requires practice and perhaps changing your style but it works.
This thread has been interesting but a lot of people saying the same thing over and over again. We all have opinions and some of them we can be passionate about... which fly boys tend to be.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback.

MiG25 vs EF2000 is like F-35 vs J-10 in vanilla. It doesn't matter what your style is, it just ain't happining.

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
I have a BattleRecorder of myself in the MiG mowing down the German aircraft and choppers, I'll fraps it up and make it all look pretty later.
I ended up going 36-4 or something obscene like that. The german opposition wasn't too challenging, but it shows the communication between myself and Namebot who was in the Frogfoot and the way the MiG should be played.-F-

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
Ikonic u know that in case of good opposition MIG will not have even close score to that.
Yes u can have great score, but let's just imagine that opposite side have same level pilots with same level skill... I would say en equal situation MIG25 vs. Eurofighter would be like 10:1. Not to mention that Evro have way more capable plane against any other air device as well as ground attack. U can kill anything by Eurofighter
SU vs. Tornado... SU is better against ground ...(still questionable) but will definityly being down in the air. In fact if Tornado will have opportunity to meet SU without ground AA preasure SU does not have a chance to make even one cirkle to target and back.
I would say Ev + Tor vs Mig+Su is at list 2:1

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
Personaly I dont try to bother with jets anymore.
I have been flying sims since I was 10...So this BF2 jet stuff seems kinda silly....Not that it is......its just odd to fly when you know what a real sim is like.......

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
Heh. It is at that. The 750 meter ceiling really gets my goat, as do map boundaries. But I can't think of a good sim that provides for mixed arms combat on the scale that PoE2 does.

Re: Whats going on with Ukrainian planes?
Heh. I read you. But until they become availble for public consumption (read: never), applied military trainers don't count. Lord knows I'd love to be able to strap myself into one of those beauties.

Yes, but by that time you're already in trouble. 750 is just a soft ceiling that I use so that I have time to react - cut power and get the nose pointed down again before the spin.
