*** Required Reading for all Tactical Gamer Members

Purpose
The purpose of this thread is to make readily available the content in the Tactical Gamer Forums which the community considers required reading for all participants. Below are threads which we expect every single individual (supporting member or not) to read and understand if he ( or she ) is to participate in our community.

The threads (or sections of threads) below are very important and are required reading. Yes, it's a lot to read, but things run MUCH more smoothly around here when each of us has read the following:

Tactical Gamer Primer
The Tactical Gamer Primer is one of the most important documents to be read. The TG Primer details the basis behind our overall guiding philosophy with every game we host and support. Understanding this philosophy will be very important when it comes to your success or failure at Tactical Gamer.
* Tactical Gamer Primer
Community Announcements/Policy
The Official Announcements forum is required reading for every member of the community, without exception.
* Tactical Gamer Official Announcements
The Acceptable Use Policy outlines many prohibited practices which Tactical Gamer cannot and will not tolerate, as well as what members (supporting or otherwise) can expect administrators to do in protecting us from those who would commit them.
* Tactical Gamer - Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
The Community FAQ and General FAQ documents are just as you would expect: questions frequently asked by folks new to Tactical Gamer.
* Tactical Gamer General FAQ
Time to Talk
Community members engaged in Sandbox discussions are required to read the Sandbox Etiquette and Personal Conduct threads, as they detail what is and what is not acceptable and expected when enjoying this often-lively forum.
* Sandbox Etiquette
* Personal Conduct
Time to Play
Community members gaming on a Tactical Gamer server are required to have read and understood the required reading for that game. These threads detail required player conduct, and procedures for contacting admins should the player require assistance.

To read your game's "required reading", select your Game Specific Forums and look for the "Official Rules and Announcements" forum, the contents of which all must be read before playing on that Tactical Gamer server. If you don't see that sub-forum (or something similarly named) for your game, then look for any pinned threads at the top of the thread list, as these threads are likely important and may be considered required reading by the game's players and admins here.

Below are the announcement forums for many (not all) of the games Tactical Gamer hosts:
* Ghost Recon - Official Rules, Announcements and SOP's
* Battlefield 2 - Official Rules, Announcements & SOPs
* Natural Selection - Official Rules and Announcements
* Counter-Strike - Official Rules, Announcements and SOPs
* SWAT 4 - Official Rules, Announcements and SOPs
* Joint Operations - Official Rules, Announcements and SOPs
* Battlefield 1942 - Official Rules, Announcements and SOP's
* Operation Flashpoint - Official Rules, Announcements and SOP's
Thank you for taking the time to read this content. Everyone having done so really does make things run more smoothly around here.

Time to Help
One more thing: understand what role supporting memberships play at Tactical Gamer. We have lots of very high-quality servers, as well as licensing fees, and this place isn't cheap to run. No one makes a profit here. Admins volunteer their time (and lots of it). The money raised through supporting memberships does nothing more than make possible the present success and future growth of Tactical Gamer.

If you frequently enjoy yourself here, be it in our forums or in our gaming servers, and you decide you'd like to help support the costs of running this place, consider purchasing a supporting membership. Beyond the satisfaction of supporting a place you enjoy, you get some very tangible benefits as well.
* Supporting Memberships

- reserved slots on many servers
- email account
- web space
- game and patch downloads
- special event servers
- team forums
- other sundry services
If you can't manage a supporting membership, you'll not be pressured about it. Come and enjoy yourself either way.
