Re: CTD's

I had wiped the hard drive about a month ago, so I installed BF2, BF2 patches up to 1.41 and then the PR .61 full. I have just uninstalled and reinstalled BF2 and am about to install PR again.

This did not happen with the Pirates mod, so it 's definitely PR.

Thank for reminding me

Yea I cant remember exactly but my setup was fine till I tried to help you fix that problem? lol, maybe it would have happened anyway

I have since reinstalled everything completely and its just screwed tbh so I gave up trying. PB doesnt kick me anymore apart from that negative score thing and its ok if I restart BF2 every other map

Yesterday my machine was giving me gip because 2.6gig wasnt enough memory for it to run PR basra, jeeez

I was using BF2 on a half gig machine before xmas, not on high settings obviously but it wasnt half as picky as now.
Arcade play has some advantages, close combat makes graphics fairly irrelevant (I really need high res, etc for PR long shots) and if I die due to lag who cares because Im back in 15 secs anyway

PB or PR did seem to kick half the chinese team day before yesterday on Qwai. It gave lots of weird lag (this screws up heli handling badly for me ) then fell over and CTD for me and a dozen others.
The worst thing was I was 10 metres on the tail of the LB hydra just as he was about to fire I would have killed him but it CTD me first, so thats 5 mins of lining up a shot + 10 mins to respawn and get back in the air.
There was like 10 people on chinese side (30 on usa) after the crash so we lost the game

I can confirm the 0.61 latest full mod (large) file doesnt help btw

Re: CTD's

Well, I reinstalled PR and now it doesn't even open PR. I click on the icon, it pops up with the BF2 logo, the screen goes black like its about to show that black sand studios logo, then it puts me back to my desktop. I'm gonna try reinstalling it AGAIN some other time, maybe tomorrow.

Re: CTD's

Have you tried deleting/moving the Battlefield 2 folder under My Documents? I suggest you move it to the desktop, start PR and connect to TG. If all that works, copy the files back one by one to find out which file is giving you trouble.

I have been forced to do this multiple times, I believe it was one of the files under the default profile that got messed up.

Yes, this was one of the solutions to problems I was having when I orginally install PR as well. Give this a try, apparently some settings in this My Documents/BF2 folder can cause CTD's.

Re: CTD's

I am having the same problem, after one year of not playing and getting back to it, it was starting to show these same problems. I am now trying to reinstall BF2 and patching it, then installing PR. I will aswell try to get my graphics drivers up and running.

Re: CTD's

Okay, as following, I have deleted everything that had to do with battlefield 2 (project reality, Tac mod, special forces). If the install asks you if you want to delete specific files aka. Profile names-passwords, settings then delete those (don't forget to remember your profile name and pass or write it down.

I then reinstalled BF2 with special operations, then got the patches and I aswell updated bunkbuster, and then I installed PR. I did a full cleanup and the game works now.

Cool, good work. I'm just gonna install PR again, but I haven't bothered installing SF.

Well yes, I have the Deluxe edition with both SF and vanilla. You just install your BF2 normally like you would.
