Re: Bring back Kashan 64 for PW night

Great games last night. The round lasted a long time, but I made sure it was last on rotation and I think all and all it was a very good password night. We started with EJOD 16, and in my opinion it was a million times better than street. It's a well thought-out map and works well with a large population, whereas with street if you get more than 20 or so the game-play suffers terribly.

x-cannon great job in the jets, that battle over our airfield was great, us migs and aa were frantically trying to nail you before you shot down Dirtboy in the frogfoot, but you ended up shooting him and crashing into his corpse . We gradually lost pilots until the end of the map when it was just me alone in the air, trying to nail your a10's and f-16s and failing miserably .

Last night I switched to the USMC team to counterbalance the MEC-TG pilots. We managed to control the skies long enough to get the A10 going. Headshot was the pilot.

Nardini put up a great fight, he shot me down several times. I got shot down lots by AA stingers and migs. Big thanks to the usmc flyboys squad (Doom, viscera, headshot, and others sorry forgot your name).

In the end it comes down to who ever has the most organized airforce wins kashan 64. I only provided cover for the bombers, mobile aa, transport choppers provided intel, and the A10s did the talking.

The ground forces on the USMC side had some organization thanks to a commander and a couple of good squad leaders. Svd_twitch was the commander (i think). We gave air cover whenever it was requested.

I know, and I really do not want to come across as a whiner becaue that is not my intent. I'm just wondering if putting it at the end of the rotation, when it is later in the evening on a work night is doing more harm than good. I know everyone wants to fly on PR - heck, I do too - but there are only so many jets to go around, so the realist in me says put the boots on the ground and take some flags. This is where Kashan, with 600 tickets each side, turns into a quagmire with about 20 players per side. One squad on each team is going to be devoted to flying, so you're down to 14 players: 2 full squads + 1 commander (maybe) + 1 enginer/commander assist to cover all of that territory. With 1 of the two squads dedicated to armor, that leaves 6 players to take/defend flags. This is where the frustration comes in. I had a full squad of 6 last night to start with, and by the time we made it into the bunkers I was down to 3 including myself - not even enough to set a RP, and no backup in sight. (BTW - big kudos to my squadmates last night - we put up a hell of a fight in the bunkers!)

Perhaps putting it on in the middle of the day, especially on Sunday only when there is more time for a PW event, makes more sense. There would be a larger population of players, and players might have more time to devote to seeing the game to it's conclusion. It's tough to sit for 3 hours on a Thursday (that's the entire PW night) or Sunday at the end of password night when a lot of players have to leave in the middle for real-world responsibilities.

BTW - EJOD 16 was fantastic! Great urban warfare! I just wish it had more tickets, it was over too quickly.

Just my $0.02.

Hero: too late for that.

I think I've earned some time to be the whiner when putting into account the years that I was the whinee on the receiving end. Albeit, just not here at TG.
