Re: PR Dev Journal.
The shotgun kill now is actually arrest because its assumed non lethal cartiridges are used like beanbags, plastic bullets or rock salt to knock the target over. Theres no reason to change that to knife or zip tie only which doesnt work when they are on top of a lamppost or whatever
This shouldnt really be in this thread if its not already backed by a dev

PR 0.87 and BF2 patch 1.5
Update:

Let me give the PR community a bit of insight on what is currently going on with PR.
We all know that DICE is trying to release a 1.5 patch for BF2. So what we have been doing is making a PR v0.87 hotfix which includes support for BF2 1.5, small fixes and the commander UAV.
At the moment, PR v0.87 is looking pretty much done, but we don't know what 1.5 final will bring that requires further tweaking/fixing. The patch will be quite small, hopefully less than 20mb if nothing further needs changing when BF2 1.5 final releases. However, the problem has always been "when".
We were on hold waiting for the release, but since it didn't come by the end of July, we decided to branch it out and start development work on PR v0.9. The initial plan for v0.9 has been polished, tasks have been allocated, and devs have already started commiting thousands of changes to the repository. It's definitely shaping up to be one of the biggest releases yet, with lots of new maps, vehicles, weapons, tweaks, fixes, and hopefully the IDF and Canadian factions. If all goes to plan, we're aiming at releasing at the end of the year.
After PR v0.9 release we have the plan to move into smaller release cycles. I think we will all appreciate faster updates from PR to keep things fresh.
So that's just a small insight on what is going on in the PR DEV world at the moment

Svd.
New model for SVD:

But it had potential so I was given the task to remake the SVD adding more detail where needed and a list of things needed to be changed before it was worthy.
This is a WIP of the new improved Russian SVD I'm in the process of creating. I was pretty much told to go nuts on this model and so I did. There is faaaar more modeling detail on this SVD than the previous. Nosferatu has guided me through this weapon from almost the beginning this time. Give that guy props, he knows his stuff.

So here is one of the projects I have been working on. After allot of playing, watching and experiencing we are going to be updating the fox holes. The Major problem was the lack of being able to enter it without jumping. This one will be a little larger and hopefully more protection.
This is WIP as we do some testing and visual fixes. Coloring is not 100% correct as its just placed in the editor.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Looks nice. I like all that extra lumps of dirt in the foxhole, or are they sandbags and wood? Looks more detailed anyhow.

I think the foxhole is fine the way it is, but like the look of that one even more. It's my favorite deployable asset.

I think they should do what they did with the MG nest and put a roof on it.
