I prefer the narrow plumes of smoke from I believe 0.6, the ones where you automatically said 'requesting pickup' when you threw em...

Those were the ones I meant.
Is there only one smoke model in the BF2 engine? That would tend to explain why the marker smokes now have huge coverage since the regular screening smokes were improved.

Ah, makes more sense  .
There should be more smoke models as the trip flares from the sniper kit use a different model which you can see below.
