Re: PR Dev Journal.

I didnt know it was allready in pr.

But Rhino said it will spawn once only on muttrah along with a cobra, thats fairly unbelievable because cobra has laser guided bombs so it must be alot bigger map then the old muttrah or that would be nuts.
Emdek should be pleased anyhow and they'll be no excuse for jabal type wipe outs or even the old muttrah failed assault though people still screw up gulf of oman so i guess we'll see

Re: PR Dev Journal.

Mortars, artillery, and JDAMs. Now marked conveniently on the briefing map!

These are all off-map strikes, called by Squad Leaders clicking the "NEED AREA ATTACK" comm rose option when using the GLTD (conventional armies), green binoculars (insurgents and militia) and the cellphone (civilian collaborator). The commander needs to approve the request and there can be only one of these attack types per team on a map.

1. Mortars

These are fast, medium sized area attacks with a 30 seconds barrage. Mainly used by the insurgents and militia.

2. Artillery

Powerful, large sized area attacks with a 60 seconds barrage. Mainly used by the conventional armies.

3. JDAM

Powerful, large sized area attack of a single powerful JDAM. Used only by some conventional armies.

No Lambda class shuttles? No ridiculously large air-launched javelin?

0.8 sounds terrible

I think you missed the sarcasm...

I hope they adjusted the JDAM to be more effective.

You fail at seeing any sarcasm lol.

Oh c'mon, no man catapults*, tri-fighters, or tactical nukes?

Re: PR Dev Journal.

Great to see new area attack. No more sitting on a hill, hat-sniping Kashan 16 for half a round I hpe. I enjoyed having to be on your toes for an arty strike. I am curious about how this will be implemented; how much time to reload it, and what damage the mortar will do.

I loved the arty, it could allow a small team to defend against zerg rushes a lot more. This is also a good way to make the co position more powerful and interesting. No motivation is better to havve someone go co then getting arty-ed and knowing you can't give some arty-lovin back to them.

I'm not sure, but I think in a modern battle, in most situations, no one can really sit still on a hilltop and dominate an area with impunity.

It says the arty is one-time only so there will be no reloads unless you mean the time in between shells in a single strike.

I gathered that it's 60 minute reload as usual but you get to choose between your fire support's providing you have two to choose from.

Re: PR Dev Journal.

Sarcasm doesn't work over the interent. Certainly I can't pick it up through text. I can hardly notice sarcasm with a voice...

But as studies show sarcasm is more affective when it isn't blatant.

Well, I've been told there are studies.

Unless, they were sarcastic about that.

In that case I'm just retarded.

Re: PR Dev Journal.

I think I didn't communicate that clearly in the post that there will be only one of these attack TYPES per team, meaning it will be OR jdam OR artillery OR mortars, but not multiple ones. They will still be reloaded and can fire multiple times in a round.
