Not a dev journal, but it probably should be. Models are WIP. Link: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f193...dels-kits.html

Well, it's been up for a while, but I haven't seen it mentioned. I'm watching the new Private Security Contractor community-made faction for PR.

I sent a presentation through to the Dev's showing them what we have created so far and what are thoughts are for the future of a PMC / PSC faction. They loved it so much they have awarded us with our very own sub-forum ....... yay.

So check it, and a bunch of showcase images on where we are so far, out below.

We will be working hard to bring this faction out of the dark areas of testing and into the light of public play as soon as we can. In the meantime, we would love to hear your thoughts.

Re: PR Dev Journal.

Alot of hard work gone into those, looks good.
I do wonder about a faction of just private contractors aka mercenarys, would a battle really be engaged with just these guys on a map.
I could only imagine a skirmish before heavier backup was called in. Apart from questionable wars in Africa, normally they would be acting in support of main forces or civilians attached to allies
I love the guy with the moustache though

Are blackwater still in Afghanistan, are their other armed groups besides them working with nato. I dont hear much mentioned nowadays so something like Iraqi forces seems more relevant or Afghan Police/military. I read even Chechen mujahideen are in Afghanistan apparently

I don't think they are called BlackWater anymore. As well as there is still plenty of private firms working on government contracts. US and British, as well as others.

Re: PR Dev Journal.

maybe the Xtract mode would be revived, i think a dev implied it MIGHT (not hold too-able) be back in the future in a revamped form. That would be a really good use of PMCs

Yep, the PMC team does plan to bring back the Xtract gamemode, even if it is changed somewhat. I've been reading through almost all of the posts in their little forum since it was made.

This map features lots of terrain variations such as a huge valley, mountains, hills and slopes. Iron Ridge has a long bridge that connects the east and west areas of the map and is the main transportation route, but there is also three other woodland roads that lead to the river area for crossing and should really add to defense and attack strategy of the map. Iron Ridge also features a large underground sewer system that will also add to some very nice underground fighting. This map is a work in progress and still needs lots of detailing....

West City

Sewer/Water Filtration Sytem... This entire area has underground tunnels...

Chechen Militia Training Area

very cool, looks alot better than Karbala.

Re: PR Dev Journal.

Wow. That West City looks a lot like footage I've seen of Prypiat (the abandoned city adjacent to Chernobyl).

And the African map above looks stunning! Will there be lions roaming about, ambushing soldiers from the brush?
