Re: Adjust Ticket Amount
While I used to be a big fan of bleed, it might be better in this version if bleed is only applied when you have just 1 flag left. Some matches could be more fun if the bleed wouldn't decide the game so quick, when one team missed its start a bit. If they just dig in and try and make a come-back at this time, it often fails because they are 200 tickets behind because of bleed.

Re: Adjust Ticket Amount
I was still getting my head round the whole ticket bleed thing when they moved to 0.7 so I won't try and comment on that. However I don't personally find a 3 hour round of Kashan or Quinling (whatever its called) much fun. Might as well call it non-infantry night. It's a personal preference and I appreciate the tankers and flyboys might want to get their hours in but its not a lot of fun for the rest of us. I think there is a danger of putting non asset users off when these maps drag on for hours. I'm sure 2 3hour infantry only maps back to back would irritate our mechanized and air based friends. I don't know but isn't that what people play ArmA for. Haven't played myself but that's what I've heard, hence I've avoided the temptation to get 'a bit on the side' and remained faithful to PR.
Have a mixture of maps, tanks for some, jets and choppers for others and blood and guts for the grunts, just don't spend all night on one map. |

Re: Adjust Ticket Amount
Wickens, Imagine ARMA as a BF2 Project reality that's been made 10 times bigger then Kashan Desert, Now get in a M2 Stryker and drive for a bit. Then fight. then if there's respawn, do it over again if not your done till the round is finished unless playing with the right group its immensly boring

Should I start a poll to ask for a modified rounds night to try out these options? |

Re: Adjust Ticket Amount
well the simplest temporary solution is surely to put a timelimit on.
Wickens has a point imo. There are no infantry maps. Just perhaps operation Phoenix. I won't talk about hills of hamgyong, as that map only ever worked before the RP's were introduced. It was crap ever since. There is indeed a lack of infantry maps that are large enough. I always end up rolling in tanks because infantry fighting is so often useless or a hassle that I don't bother. I've heard form a good source that some mapper(s) is/are heavily bent on vehicle maps, and they will always put a large amount of vehicles in. I'll end with a remark about the counterattack mode. Simply put, I really love it. I enjoy the freedom of attacking anywhere on the map. I love not having to run back and forth repeatedly because of flags flipflopping. I hope they really expand on this, because TBH I never realy liked AAS (although it is better then it was). It always felt too artificial, and even more so as the game becomes more realistic. As is, Zatar is my favourite map! Provided the mec don't get all b*tchy by staring at the carrier all day. Even though they are allowed to, it ruins the map and is bad gameplay all around ("But the BH was 1 inch away from the carrier when I shot it...."-OMG stop that). If you are mec, just defend somewhere where you CANNOT see the carrier. Give them a fighting chance you cowards!

Re: Adjust Ticket Amount
i like the ticket amount, though with the introduction of 2 new maps, and the new additions, the maps do last a long time, and I like it....Long engagements, yes sometimes it gets to the point where enough is enough, but...it is project reality, and i'm happy with it....now what could be a cool addition for future versions is if the sun actually goes down, but thats something probably for a different engine altogether.
The timer has always been there....and i'm glad that its getting to some good use.....there have been several times where the team i am on is bleeding and we are almost completely outnumbered, but then we are able to pull together and fight the invaders to the death, and have them be pushed against the wall...and the tanks goes to teamwork and the ticket amount. |
