Oh man I just can't believe the attitude in here regarding Insurgency and I thought TG was a MATURE gaming site.

What about simply congratulating the winner (as the PRM development team did) and accepting the fact that PRM came in second NOT because it’s “inferior” to Insurgency but simply because Insurgency garnered more votes.

If you’d bother to visit the Insurgency site, you’d notice that because of the gracious attitude of the PRM developers it didn’t turn into a flame fest about which mod is better.
and there are Insurgency players downloading PRM. Might just ed up with some new blood in PRM.

I play both and both are fun in their own rights.

That just smacks of elitist attitude. TG's servers arent; immune to these "5 years olds" either..read some of the comments in the forum.

Did they fix the recoil in insurgency, it was worse then our g3 last time I tried.
It looks a great game but I will wait for the next update I think

Yes, I have tried the latest release. Still horribly buggy. No, PR wasnt perfect when it first came out. Then again, PR wasnt voted MOTY when it was first released either. I stand by my assessment.

Disliking a game has nothing to do with the community being more or less mature than others. For example: I hate WoW. It consumes peoples lives, metaphorically and literally. People have DIED playing it. I think it's a nuisance. Does that make my opinion invalid or, immature, for that matter? No. There are plenty of people that love the game and I dont bother them about it. To each their own. But I'm entitled to my opinion, and entitled to express my disdain that a lesser game (IMO) won an award simply because the playerbase is exponentially larger.

Get a judgment based on applicable criteria for a mod, performed by a selected panel of non-biased judges and I'd be more than happy to accept the results. A popularity contest, however, doesnt fly in my book.

But the point was that simply congratulating Insurgency on its win and accepting the fact that PRM came in a close second without the derogatory comments about Insurgency would have sufficed.

I personally don’t agree with the results but then whose fault is that considering that on almost any given night there are more active PRM players than Insurgency.

I don’t think being a HL2 mod is the reason it won, as there were plenty of other HL2 mods in the running that didn’t even come close.

But as my mom used to say: ”if you can’t say anything nice, then simply don’t say anything at all”

A few of us should head on some time to see if it can be any good. I've not really come across any good servers with voip being used
