I like it - I never play spec ops but I'm glad that they are making the kit worthwhile.

Sno0ggums i read you on that!! I cannot wait to see all the new "specialty squads" that have specops or sabotage spring up.
But I like the idea of a parachute, its a nice adjustment with maps like jabal and zatar and even qwai. It should send some chills up the sides of both teams. The real interesting thing will be when someone sees a specops guy jump off of a chopper, will they jump off too? I like how the grappling hook wasn't attached, think of it how many maps actually need a grappling hook? not too many....and even if there was one, i could see how it wouldn't be allowed on every map, hopefully the parachute will be on every map. Hopefully I will have the chance to try it out. Is it already added? or will this be for the next version? It's a sweet addition and you are right belhade it comes at a great time with the giants beating the patriots!!

Would parachute work from ontop of Jabal dam. In past versions pilot kit was quite usefull to get to the flag room from the top quickly

You could parachute into the dam, but as the devs have stated, in order to to survive, your chute has to be open for around 10 seconds. So jumping off the dam and trying to get to the flag room=death.

Anyone know if youll be able to reuse the parachute after using it before? If you can, it should take a second or two before you can take out your rifle or anything again (as if your getting it back together, if it took 8 seconds that would be fine as well)..
Are the models gonna be redone also so they can blend in better with the environments?? |

Oh...My..God.. Last night on Operation Ghost Train me and unlocks r emo and Chukk were doing heli drops with pilot kits and they were quite successful. Imagine with a rifle and slams now. It will rain slams! That would take care or RPs in high places. Without even having to land in the area of it. YES!

I think you should be able to see the left over piled up parachute, so you would know someone had droped in.

Yea but you should also get the option (somehow..) of taking it away since spec ops are trained to infiltrate entirely undetected leaving no sign of how they even got in.. Iunno, they could do the parachute like a mine (like previously said) and if your too busy with enemy to hide it then you can just leave otherwise knife it 15 times or something and it goes away..

Sadly, I highly doubt the BF2 engine is capable of the chute dropping on the ground after landing, although I guess if the devs spent enough time on it they just might find a way to make it work. But then again they probably won't even try it since they have more important things to do. *sigh* the limits of game engines.
