Even if I ran straight to him or was aiming at his face with a sniper rifle but didn't shoot and they shot at me would it be against the rules?
If they fire first, they are in violation of the rules. Knife away, but don't expect them to stay put .

Hmm, but technically, if you see someone coming at you with a knife, wouldn't that be defending yourself? Or do you have to be shot at? Sorry if I am looking too far into this, but I just want to be clear.

You have to actually be attacked. With a knife, that means he actually has to swing at you.

As far as "UCB camping" goes, ANYONE from either team can be in either UCB at any time so long as they dont open fire. Ergo, I can walk right into the enmy UCB and dance a jig on top of their command post if I want to and it's perfectly legal. If I walk in and shoot someone before they shoot me though, thats out of bounds.
Well even this is not entirly true considering fools road where we cant shot at engies repairing the bridge, which in my humble opion i think is stupid.

Fools Road is a unique case and much debate went into the rule being the way it is. Feel free to voice your opinions to the admin staff if you wish.

Re: We need a thread on Offical UCB cap areas.

got a few questions regarding the UCB rules:
1. what is a UCB? "UnCapable Base" i heard, this means its the "Main" not a regular flag that is out of play because of the game modes? (eg: Flag with no Attack marker - also neutral Flags with no attack marker - are NO UCBs?)

2. are those ralley points where everybody can spawn considered a "asset" (e.g. Seven Gates the chinese public ralleys around the castle (chinese UCB))
so may i destroy them?

Only one im unsure of at this point...

In EJOD desert while pushing onto north desert and MEC main your tanks become exposed to the TOW in base. If someone is to jump in a TOW, and aim it at your tank, can you shoot him before he shoots you? It's pretty clear what is going to happen at that point.

@ZaBoo
I think in this case you would be allowed to hit the TOW first because it is considered to be a commander asset, as it is the same as destroying an aa gun in an enemy main. The other team won't be very happy about it, but it is legal.

@SnipingCoward
The UCB can be the uncappable flag, such as the carrier on Jabal and Zatar, or else it is considered the main flag of the enemy where their team has a permanent spawn point. These flags are subject to the server rules governing attacks on UCBs.

The rally points on 7 Gates are legal targets, regardless of team. The Chinese rallies in the Citadel complex are legal, as are the British rallies in A7/8.

I agree with Disposable, as the other day with Zaboo we had to figure this on our own terms..

However, for some reaons I was having trouble destroying it.
